It seems we have a "Flamer." The more we feed it, the bigger it'll grow. I, for one, am done. G'night all!

@MROO, I'm sorry for your losses. And I'm sorry you're having to deal with this here. Peace to you. BTW, DH and I wear masks on the rare occasions we go out; the kids have not left the house since Mar. 6 or so. We know the masks don't protect the wearer. We wear because we care. We wish everybody would.

I've been having that too!. I read everything I can find about covid, thinking "ignorance," is not bliss!" But it gives me tremendous anxiety. Think I will have to go back on the med I just got off of at start of year! OH CARP!!

Memory issues, stress, anxiety, depression, paralysis, short temper, yelling at the kids over stupid "carp" as you guys put it.... yeah, any of that sound familiar to y'all? How about low-grade headaches when you NEVER get headaches? They said this was a war, only it's an invisible enemy. That's what this feels like, battle fatigue, they used to call it. I think it may be a form of PTSD to tell you the truth, meaning no disrespect to our actual veterans. The stress is unrelenting. We don't get furloughed, we don't get R&R. We don't know when it will end. Some days my eyes leak and won't stop.

"The quality of mercy is not strained, it droppeth as a gentle rain from heaven" Or something like that. "Omnes Gallia est divisa in partes tres" Maybe?
And a map of Africa with so many countries no longer there...
Mary

Omnes who? You got me on that one! Let's see: "Veni, vidi, vici," Julius Caesar (I came, I saw, I conquered), followed by "Et tu, Brute?" And To Kill A Mockingbird. And boys, of course.

'Crime and Punishment' , page by bloody page, in English class. Reading 'Anna Karenina', and being so happy when it finally ended!
'Macbeth' and 'Hamlet', and ee cummings.
My children had no Shakespeare in HS, none!
Mary

Be glad about the Shakespeare, my girl read some of Romeo and Juliet to me and I was scandalized! We must have gotten a sanitized version in Catholic school, what she read to me was... was ....:th

:lau Really!? I don’t remember it being like that 🤔

Well I don't know what version her school assigned, but I was so embarrassed I had to ask her to stop reading it to me. And I'm an old married gal! Phhht, now there is going to be a run on Shakespeare as everyone tries to find this very bawdy version! 🙄

Edit: spelling
