Went to a few big box stores today haven't been since this whole thing started, only stayed local small store. We have a local hardware store has everything a Lowes or Home Depot will have but you can't look at everything and pick just what you want, not as convenient. So we went. Monday morning early, packed with people like it was a holiday weekend!! Picked up the various things we needed for our house, and moved on. Had to stop at a Wal-Mart, first time there also since this happened, also PACKED to the hilt with people, just needed a probe thermometer, thawed out some deer meat/venison, have the ingredients already and pig casings to make Landjägers. I could have ordered one online and mailed, definitely need a meat probe thermometer because you want to cook them to temp but not hot enough to melt the fat.
Also stopped at a BJ's wholesale food store, they also had a limit, only one of each meat item... Main reason for stopping at those two..looking for bread yeast..none.
Our local stores none. Our local store I asked in their bakery, said they can only order a week ahead and no none for sale, shortage...
Guess we are going to have to look into making sour dough bread.

Very similar things going on around here. Stores HAD been limiting the number of people allowed in but that seems to have stopped. Meat of all kinds has limits on how many of each one can get.....if there is even any there. Our produce departments seem more well stocked.

Hubs is going fishing on Saturday with a neighbor that ALWAYS comes home with nice fish. We often trade eggs for fish or deer meat with him. He is an awesome neighbor for sure! I start plants for his garden each year and send him baked goods too.

I need to go shopping!! Haha 😆 and planting 🙈

ERMAGERD! You haven't planted yet???

Going to try turnip greens soon. I’m going to sauté them

Turnip greens.....thanks for reminding me to get THOSE seeds planted. Turnip greens have a natural bit of spice to them. Super yummy.

I’m going to sauté some onion the deglaze with vegetable broth then let simmer for a bit until liquid is evaporated some. I have never had them, but I bought a big bag for us and the rabbits to eat.

I have purple top turnips growing so I’ll be eating those when they are ready and eat the greens as they grow.

And no she hasn’t planted 😂 We are going to have to drive there and do it for her.

Have you grown swiss chard? It is good cooked as well as fresh and is slow to bolt.
Once I harvest spinach I am following with swiss chard there.

Good Lord!! Tossing my mini shovel in the car, and gloves. Oh and a hat....I need a haircut pretty bad now lol.

She has to many seeds to NOT plant would be a travesty!

I’ll do the same probably because I have giant noble spinach planted and I have Swiss chard seeds.

I can probably get away with growing year around if I get my dang act together.

I know. I’m about to have my chickens do a fly by and steal some of her seeds 😂

I’m going to start my other garden box. I only did one and my husband moved the other, I hate the location of it, but I’ll work with it for now.

Using those reusable grocery bags worked. I should get pics today maybe if it’s not raining. I have so much growing in them right now.

My cucumber babies got pretty beat up in a hail storm. I am debating buying new starts and replacing......but that would mean going to the greenhouse which I am sure is crowded.

I am struggling to get things done here. My back is still quite painful. Today will test that as I REALLY REALLY need to get the siding on the duck house.
Hubs was very nice and helped weed the veggie beds. I have quite a few things growing. My pole beans are growing so bunnies better not get frisky this year and eat them....or I will have me some bunny stew! They got every single one I planted last year.
