I don't know about the potato thing, but I have filed spurs that have gotten damaged or that needed working on before. Perhaps fix the ragged one, then file down the other one to match?Okay ... It's Question Time! How? And how long does the potato have to stay on there ... and how long does it take for the raw spurs to harden up enough for the bird to go back with the others ... and does it work for hens? I'm sure I have lots more questions ... but those are the ones that come to mind.
I'm asking because I have a young Jersey Giant hen that broke a spur jumping from a high roost. She did REALLY well at last year's Maryland State Fair (Best American Breed ... at only three months old!) If the Fair goes on (in doubt, at the moment,) DD wants to take her back, but we need to do something about that short, broken spur. Not only does it mar her beauty, but the ragged edge collects gunk. That can't be healthy for her.
Yes mine are all like that. I have one that literally screams after she lays an eggs. She doesn’t sing just screams bloody murderYou must have taken my chickens, they are all like that! "Drama queens and roos."
Our state it’s now mandatory to wear face masks. I feel a bit safer now!
I still can’t believe the parks are even opening yet.
That’s good it’s still pretty empty for the most part! It just seems like such a terrible idea to me. Packed full of thousands of tourists right on top of each other. But maybe people will stay away.Universal June 6th, and Disney in July.
I can believe it. The culture here is not healthy with each other and protecting each others health. No social distancing. Everyone’s going back to what it was like prior.
I’ve lived in Florida for 32 years. I was born here, and family is from here. As central Florida opens...common sense goes out.
They’re protecting the workers delaying the opening along with the people coming in.
City walk and downtown Disney opened up last week. It’s very empty. Most people are straying away still.
I have idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension so I know all about the worry you face when you go somewhere. I’m 33 and my parents still are so worried about me with everything. I honestly have stayed home. I’ve gone to the store a couple times but I always wear my mask and wash my hands really well.I wish the Florida government would do something a little bit more empathetic such as requirements for face masks. Disney and other theme parks are requiring them for everyone entering as a guest and working.
My son has a heart murmur and asthma. Every day I go out to the grocery is a risk, or other places I must go and they must go. They get to go to the dentist next week..I worry.
The numbers are there favoring the use of masks.
When I went to the grocery 90% of people weren’t wearing a mask. All I could think about was all the people
Who have to go to work and people who have underlying conditions, people who are caregivers who are mandated to work, people like myself who care for their elderly grandmother and mother with underlying conditions.
people who are going to get eviction notices next month. The poor people who are even more affected. It’s so terrible.
There was a single mom who her landlord told her that if they didn’t extend the order she was going to get evicted and she said she had no money so she was packing up all her belongings, placing everything outside. It was on the news last night.
My heart is heavy, and the lack of empathy in our state is disheartening. With people.
I wish people would look past themselves. Be more empathetic, more loving, more giving and more caring. We have the capability. We are intelligent.
But I also think other parts of the state are better than the other for helping, being self aware and kind.
Good for your state for taking the additional step. It’s not about me or you. It’s about us as a whole! We must show the world, each other, and ourselves we are making a step as a whole to protect others along with ourselves.
That’s good it’s still pretty empty for the most part! It just seems like such a terrible idea to me. Packed full of thousands of tourists right on top of each other. But maybe people will stay away.![]()
Are they at least doing lower capacities? I, admittedly, haven’t really read much on it; just that they were reopening.
