@Trevorusn : if you follow the news, you see that the number of death because of this Covid19 are increasing quickly. Take Europe as an example of what probably is going to happen in the US within a couple of weeks too.

I think it’s good that mainstream media warns people to be precautious in contact with other people.

Imo: All government's should stop all events and close all pubs to start with. Urge people to stay home in self quarantine if they think its just a cold. All to prevent a too sudden outbreak.

Who can make or build (more) medical needs for this covid19 like sanitary products and oxygen devices should start to produce this overnight. Because there will be a shortage for these products.

In Europe more and more Hospitals get overloaded with people with respiratory problems. There is not enough medical staff and equipment to help everybody. Hospitals are closing for normal health care (canceling scheduled operations, sending woman in labour to another hospital).

This Increasing number of infected people who need hospital care to survive and the many deaths have a huge impact on our day to day life. They already ask the elderly (>80) not to ask for ICU (artificial coma) because chances are low they come out of it again without permanent damage.

Listen and read only trustworthy media. Because a lot of crap is being shared.
What happens in Europe is no guarantee it will transpire the same way here. Past the coasts, we are not as condensed population wise, and we have began curtailing things sooner. As with all things related to this, it is a case of wait and see.

We don’t have cable, so no Netflix, unfortunately.
I don't have cable either. But I do have internet + wifi though a normal telephone line and watch Netflix / tv with an App and Google chromecast. Not always perfect but it’s a lot cheaper than a cable connection.

You're right that it probably will multiply more slowly in less crowded populations but it also depends on other things.

The Netherland Heath care organisation (Hco) + government claimed different situations too from Italy after Italy got into trouble. Not about the condensed population. But because we Where warned in time, and the Hco/government was telling people to keep a distance after the first reports. And they also immediately adviced working at home.

This was clearly not enough! People where still going to bars, events, gatherings and parties. Still travelling and using public transport. It was multiplying fast.

And with the new stricter rules its stil multiplying. Because it takes two weeks before you can see the results of stricter rules.

I hope you all are safe or will come through this with little sickness.

There isn't a person alive who has experienced anything like what they are about to witness.
Perhaps those who were victims of the holocaust but there have been massive pandemics that none of us remember.
The plague of Justinian when global population was less than 200 million killed 30-50 million.
The bubonic plague of 1350 when global population was 360 million killed 200 million.
Smallpox in 1520 killed 52 million when the population was 450 million.
The third plague of 1855 only killed 12 million when the population was 1.5 billion.
Spanish flu of 1918 (which didn't come from Spain) killed close to 50 million.
HIV/AIDS has killed 35 million.
There have been lots more pandemics in between those and earlier in earlier
history.

Just whats on my mind and what is causing me anxiety

Just how quickly and willingly people are to give up their rights without question. And the "Learned Helplessness". People are begging for quantines and for entire districts to be shut down. People are allowing martial law to take over willingly

if the government around the world ordered everyone to be chipped and vaccinated, people would beg for it. People rejecting chipping would be rejected by society and reported by friends and family. The people refusing would be dragged off to quarantine camps and society would welcome it

I suspect there could be policies introduced in the coming months. Some that will be permenant even after this thing settles. Rules that they have been trying to enforced but they just needed an emergency to put them foreward.

The best way to protect outselves for the upcoming panic is to not panic. Take necessary actions and be aware of the virus but stop watching and listening to media peices about it, Stop panicking anf letting it consume your mind and obessing over it with everyone

"They want you to be afraid. Don’t let them. This is not the first crisis and will not be the last."

Ive learned from my father, who learned from his father that you can survive on a small patch of forest with nothing more than a steel axe and simple hand tools, Not even toilet paper!

Respect for all you say but On one thing I disagree :
They want you to be afraid. Don’t let them. This is not the first crisis and will not be the last."
Its a good thing if people are afraid in contact with other people. If not, this virus will spread faster and faster. Multiplying x multiplying.

Good news, heard that malaria drug, just going from what I remember hearing, one of the top doctors in the world did a closed study of fifty people with covid in France that resulted in a 100% cure rate. Now it might not be a vaccine just a treatment but it looks like we may be able to save many lives. Another good thing I heard it's a already approved drug, safe, and easy/cheap to produce. :fl

How is your clinic handling it? My sister in law said hers is having clients drop their dogs off in the parking lot, they bring the dog in, do their exams or whatnot, and then put the dog back in the parking lot for pick up. Then they have to call the client with diagnosis or instructions.

That is how we are currently handling things as well. It’s going decently well, although it’s not perfect. We make exceptions for euthanasias, of course.

We have, however, temporarily lost a decent number of employees as anyone with any signs of illness is told to stay home. As we had the flu and strep throat going around, as well as having Covid-19 in the same town, we are probably going to have very few employees left to work soon!

I’m still hanging in there, glad that it is Friday, although I have a sneaking suspicion I may be asked to cover for someone tomorrow.

At any rate, it’s finally spring, my favorite season. I’m going to focus on that :)

This exactly. Fear is more contagious than any pandemic.

You can sell eggs safely if you sell at the front door and keep 1.5 meter distance. Don’t hand it over. Put the egg-box on a table and ask the buyer to lay down cash money. Wash you're hands and the coins.

Or you can ask to pay by bank account.
I don't want anyone coming to my house besides family. I'm in the woods for a reason 😂 I like my peace and quiet.

Which malaria drug? Monocycline is good but back in the day Mefloquine was horrendous.
