I went to the actual Florida Board of Nursing website and updated that I no longer live in Florida. I usually don't click on links in an email.

I don't click on links unless I know I should be receiving emails from that sender at that address. I keep multiple email addresses in order to sort things out. So like any Covid information I get is only being received at one email, as I use that for all my health/insurance stuff - any other email account that got something like that, I would delete without even looking at it. And even then, an email from a trusted sender (i.e. a friend) should be scrutinized if you notice anything fishy about it. Like I would never click a link attached to a short message reading "This is funny!" or "Try this!" without verifying it with the sender first that they had actually sent that.

The funny thing is, I have always washed hands and whatnot, but my pre-deployment brief for Djibouti ramped that up a million. It seems folks are only FINALLY catching up to what some like myself have been doing for years upon years now. Why are all the soaps and sanitizers gone now?? What were folks using before?? And, half the national cases of this are centered in one area of Washington State, that right there is rather interesting, however it seems to rarely if ever be mentioned. Also, when you have something like CNN running a strip saying Covid-19 is 10x potentially deadlier than the flu while the CDC stated it isn't, that is total fear pandering. Wisdom, steadiness, and calm, fact based outlook are what the times call for, not tallysheets of what is closed or how far the stock market is going down.

Sadly suicide is VERY contagious as depression rises. The big upswing in gun violence you hear about has a very interesting correlation with our society becoming more overworked and children becoming more depressed. Suicide rates are rising, but it is not easy to sensationalize that. Same with the dramatic rise in Autism, also something mainstream media has never pointed out but which is on a much more dramatic and concerning rise than Covid-19, and is now 1 in 26 or 28 kids being diagnosed with it. All this is why I am curious why a virus with less than 200 deaths here can halt a nation of over 300 million almost overnight.
@Trevorusn : if you follow the news, you see that the number of death because of this Covid19 are increasing quickly. Take Europe as an example of what probably is going to happen in the US within a couple of weeks too.

I think it’s good that mainstream media warns people to be precautious in contact with other people.

Imo: All government's should stop all events and close all pubs to start with. Urge people to stay home in self quarantine if they think its just a cold. All to prevent a too sudden outbreak.

Who can make or build (more) medical needs for this covid19 like sanitary products and oxygen devices should start to produce this overnight. Because there will be a shortage for these products.

In Europe more and more Hospitals get overloaded with people with respiratory problems. There is not enough medical staff and equipment to help everybody. Hospitals are closing for normal health care (canceling scheduled operations, sending woman in labour to another hospital).

This Increasing number of infected people who need hospital care to survive and the many deaths have a huge impact on our day to day life. They already ask the elderly (>80) not to ask for ICU (artificial coma) because chances are low they come out of it again without permanent damage.

Listen and read only trustworthy media. Because a lot of crap is being shared.

What are we all doing to stay sane while stuck at home?
Do the things I usually do (chickens, cleaning, garden, cooking).
Calling people I cannot visite.
WhatsApp a little more within a few family /friend groups.
Working at home
Go to the shop for things I need (and keep a distance)
Cycle or take a walk (as long as it is allowed)

Think more creatively. There are so many things you can use TP for other than wiping your woohoo. Wipe your nose, wipe your tears, clean the toothpaste and shaving cream splatters from your bathroom mirror or write the next great American novel on it. 🤧
Just bring it back to the store if they have a shortage .... or put a sign up. Eggs and toiletpaper for sale.

Fun fact: H1N1 originated in the USA. Do you think people in China called it the Ameriflu? Lol.

Objectively, one reason could be that confidence in government leadership was a lot stronger around the H1N1 time. Didn't we also have a pandemic response team then? I know it was just dismantled last year (whoopsie) but I don't know when it was started.
Actually it either began from pigs in Asia and someone caught it then went Stateside, or it began in Mexico. The book is still out on it, it seems.

Don't do that because this virus. Meeting people to sell chickens is risky. I had plans to sell a lot, but unfortunately that's not happening now.
You can sell eggs safely if you sell at the front door and keep 1.5 meter distance. Don’t hand it over. Put the egg-box on a table and ask the buyer to lay down cash money. Wash you're hands and the coins.

Or you can ask to pay by bank account.

Welp, I was exposed and so was my hubby. His coworker tested positive. Now we are BOTH quarantined at home, just waiting for the symptoms to start. Thankfully, there are tests available. I'll be fine, but my hubby is older than I am and has lousy lungs.

We are in limbo in so many ways. We are between houses - having sold ours but not yet bought another and living with my mom. I am a teacher who was relocating a couple hundred miles north of here and just waiting for my contract to end in June. But now school is canceled for now and hiring is frozen. I had interviewed and was given a job offer, but I was supposed to sign the contract this week. Now I'm sharing a small house with my hubby, my mom, 2 adult sons, my older son's gf, a combined 7 dogs, 5 cats, 1 guinea pig, and 8 chickens. It's a zoo - literally. I am worried for my mom and hubby.

But at least I'm getting paid. I feel so badly for people who find themselves without work and no pay all of a sudden.

I wish I knew that everything is going to be ok....
:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs

i really hope all goes well
