i totally agree. think just that in Italy schools re-opened without the mask mandate in the classroom. so, an average of 25 students stayed at least 5 hours in the same room without mask. and during the playtime students stayed all together closely... a lot without masks. So, imagine how is funny to be a student, wearing a KN95 mask while pretty nobody in the class is wearing a mask...:hmm(it was my situation). I obviously would have preferred the digital school for this year.
I have my daughter wearing goggles in addition to the mask that is required by the school. She is the only one in her whole school wearing goggles. Of course being in middle school, she finds this embarrasing. I told her it was either that or distance learning (digital school). She prefers the goggles. Granted we live in area with a lower amount of cases. At least for now anyway...

Wow that Utah mandate is STRONG. My guess - with the election over they're more able to crack down on case rates without losing votes. Hope more states follow suit, the cowards. *shakes fist* I'd love to see our local TSC ACTUALLY complying.

Going to get a new bunny this weekend... Strong reason to believe the seller is an anti masker. :T Last person I bought from was too. 😩 Really hoping to get in and out ASAP.

I like to shop locally, but this year, several small local stores are run by those same 'anti maskers', so I'm taking my business elsewhere instead. Idiots!
(Insert the rant of your choice here!!!)
Meanwhile, the weather is still magnificent, and I'm going to hoses off the deck and seal it tomorrow. Wonderful!

My local TSC is across the river in Madison County, IL. I usually shop across the highway from them at the Farm&Home. They usually have better prices and a better selection. They have someone checking that everyone who enters has a mask and if not, they give them one.

I wish so many people would also cover their noses with their masks.

Everywhere I go around the metropolitan area on both sides of the river, masks are worn. When I go outstate, no one wears them.
Masks probably wouldn't be worn on the east side of the river but they are mandated and they are on the edge of their seats because complete closure of indoor dining is imminent.
Most restaurants are living on a shoestring.
The guy who cuts my hair said he is hanging on by a thread, a very frayed thread.

There IS no indoor dining here. Hasn't been since March or May or some time around there. Everything that didn't already have patios has turned into sidewalk cafés with tents and heaters. I suppose that's easier in our mild climate than in many parts of the country but it doesn't make making your way down a street on foot any easier.

Hospitalization rates are spiking here too. I've taken to wearing an acetate face shield in addition to my ubiquitous masks. I've got so many things balanced on the bridge of my nose these days -- glasses, face shield, top of the mask -- that I can't keep them all in place and I'm constantly trying to reach though the shield to adjust something. Add to that the bill of the baseball cap that announced my voting preference and I looked like some geriatric ninja. At least I can finally let the baseball cap go.

Hang in there, guys! This is the issue of our era. We're not only deciding by our behavior and our attitudes who's going to get sick and who isn't but we're joining the fight that health care workers can't win by themselves.
