I'm sure the bread will go bad eventually. Contrary to what may be "common" belief, MRE's will not last forever. The shelf life is dependent on the conditions they are stored in. If considering shelf stable food with a long shelf life look at what's available for the average person from reputable sources. I know some outdoor/hunter/ fishing stores such as Cabela's and Bass Pro carry these items. You can also order them from Walmart. MRE's are really not a good option for the average person. Please note that I am not saying that I'm an expert on these things - the information regarding MRE's is true to my knowledge at the time I retired. And no, I haven't had the "opportunity" to ingest an MRE since I worked on the Katrina recovery. So it's been quite awhile.

Oh I'm sure the "bread" does go bad...eventually, maybe, sometime in the future, possibly. I still have a whole box from my short Seabee stint , and had some fine ones while at relaxin Jackson. They have improved considerably, but still only meant ideally for high speed, low drag scenarios vs. an in shelter rat. As I said earlier, usually if not in a humid environment they go for 3 years before items start to go bad.

Question for any fishing people-

I have a creek that is about 5' to 8' wide and usually between 1' to 2' deep. I say usually because I can't remember the last time it wasn't high from flooding.
Anyway, it's always full of minnows, little fish, snails, and crayfish. (crawdads)
The flow is usually pretty good and I'm thinking a casting net would not work to catch the minnows, but am at a loss when I look at minnow nets for kids to play in creeks or the hard tubular nets/traps for small fish or prawns.

I'm thinking the flow is too strong for the traditional soft crab nets for pier fishing, where it lays flat that you put bait in the middle then pull up when you get a crab. And anything more elaborate left in place will get tossed around in the flow, though I have one quiet area before the bridge culverts.

Any advice for a sturdy net I can use while wading in the creek to catch fish?

I was thinking after the home made masks are not needed they make great crop bras for chickens

Did my “spring” cleaning with lots of bleach, my door handles and light switches etc are clean but windows still have nose prints and “bark marks” lol

124 cases today, 7 in my county. Took the kids on a car ride yesterday(just to get out of the house for a while) and saw many people hanging out in large groups in the park, stores crowded, etc
Seems like maybe I'm the only one in my county that's doing the social distancing thing lol.

My husband just told me about using socks I figured leaves would work too since our leaves are growing in right now... We have TP though we bought a months supply last month.
