I'm sure the bread will go bad eventually. Contrary to what may be "common" belief, MRE's will not last forever. The shelf life is dependent on the conditions they are stored in. If considering shelf stable food with a long shelf life look at what's available for the average person from reputable sources. I know some outdoor/hunter/ fishing stores such as Cabela's and Bass Pro carry these items. You can also order them from Walmart. MRE's are really not a good option for the average person. Please note that I am not saying that I'm an expert on these things - the information regarding MRE's is true to my knowledge at the time I retired. And no, I haven't had the "opportunity" to ingest an MRE since I worked on the Katrina recovery. So it's been quite awhile.They still come with the tabasco sauce. Lol, can the "bread" in MREs ever go stale? Or the Imitation Pork Riblet? That's a good one to snatch up right there.
