I get very sad to see people, who I think have a decent grasp on life, repeat strange, bazaar and (basically) wild propaganda. Unfettered news sources... like" I went to a class and the guy said..." so now it is a reliable news source???? I will never go on fb or believe anything that comes from it and would be embarrassed to repeat in public some of the things I have heard.
Even with reliable sources I still research and look for many expert and professional opinions. I don't want to be anyone's fool- it is so important especially now-a-daze to be well informed. I even threw a retired military officer out of my house for spewing weird stuff (pre pandemic).
Like what the heck?!!! I bet he has not changed his tune- insane and paid to protect us.... god help us.
Trying to promote a rare breed, I've been told countless times to get on FB for 10 years or more. I just can't do it.
My brother-in-law gets into arguments with Facebook associates for believing nonsense.

FB is like any other tool. It's all how it's used.
The local groups of history, nature and farm are great.
I ignore a lot of the stuff.

In my experience, Facebook is more like a drug than a tool. It is very addicting and does nothing to enhance one's health or well being. It's a temporary high while using it, and then one feels badly about themself afterward because of the superficial nature of the experience and the way it sucks one into drama and sensationalism.

Aloha gang, just checking in.
I am not a big LOTR or along that line of movie watcher though I did read the books as a older teen and did enjoy and I also watched the movies with my older teen boys. They were very well done, boys loved but I was busy keeping a roof over our heads and they just were not my thing so I never got into.
The other day I watched "Death to 2020" on Netflix and LMAO. Just incase somebody is looking for funny TV entertainment. Lots of F bombs FYI.

NYE I sweetly put my foot down and told DH that I was going to steal his dog and go up to Koke'e without him, he happily hopped off the roof and decided to come along for the ride, quiche and salad ;). It was a quick one and the winds had died down in the eve, as they normally do with high pressure vs storms. We got there in the dark and left b4 first light. As expected, the silence was deafening. On our way up I was sadly shocked and surprised at all of the people gathering at neighbors homes and out n about walking and talking like all is well in the land of Oz. Well, our numbers are good because tourist have a 14 day quarantine but really folks?! It will be saddening to see what happens in the next few weeks. I am just really sorry we have no discipline and just cant take 1 years worth of holidays off to arrest a deadly virus. Go figure right? :old:idunno In the very least to be in solidarity with those who are healthcare pros, on the frontlines or in severely hit areas. I just thought the human race was a little better than that and my neighbors, for all of our shortcomings were smarter.
Well, I heard it was an exceptionally long and loud night and I am really glad we dug out. My hens will probably quit laying for a month.. :th, DH found a firework remnant on AJ's new roof as he finished up the ridge cap last eve... but I am sure some people enjoyed themselves and I hope they are enjoying their hangovers too lol.

Baby Elliott is still on happy biscuits as people are randomly setting off their leftover fireworks with the exception of the big booms till someone gets caught or scared enough to stop which is probably never. Fireworks are illegal here but our police are 0, zip, no, nada help... as is our norm. We obviously have been having a Elliott and couch exception @ChocolateMouse  ;):jumpy.

Caught the kids playing on the lizard fence again and was a little faster with my phone.View attachment 2472589
Even caught the setting moon or an orb or firework... lol (upper right of lower photo)View attachment 2472590
Got 1/2 of my back lanai shades installed and am going back out to work on the other half of the railings now.
2021 already feels a little bit bright and I am looking up and forward to good things.

Anybody have any new years resolutions?
Me? More stir fries, longer walks and to be more in the moment with my tasks- instead of speeding from one to the other if I can help it. Enjoy the moment and be more deliberate.

K, folks. Happy 2nd!!! I Hope your day is grand!!!
I am going keto full steam ahead and lose the rest of this weight!

I'm wondering, a year in, 20 million infected and 350,000 dead in the US, 85 million infected and nearly 2 million dead globally, what hole is someone living in that they still think it is a hoax? In LA county alone, someone dies every 3.5 minutes. and across the country, more than one person dies every minute.
AND CLIMBING!!!
What is their source of news?
The 3 very right (fallen over) POV faux news sources....

Any social media can be like that, including BYC. ;)

drugs can certainly be abused. But even oxycodone is a life saver if in pain. But yeah easily addicting....

even work or exercise can be addicting to some people. Causes issues with family or body joints.
Not like chickens, which aren't addicting or a gateway to other farm animals. :gig

Well, some of us started with horses and cattle, and then got into chickens! Maybe backwards, but it's worked for us. And for the folks who think that chickens are difficult and expensive, so not true! Horses, even when at home on pasture, are more challenging.
If a boat is a hole in the water into which you pour money, horses are that hole in the pasture...
