I am seriously tempted to load up the bator right now, im getting around 100 eggs a week and they are selling instantly with people on order, ive even had enquiries to buy my POLs (Not bad for a flock 0f 20 backyard pets).
Part of me wants to prepare and part of me hopes this will just all blow over relatively quickly, chicken is impossible to get hold of because of panic buyers so meat birds are suddenly a big option as well.
But most people have no idea how to prepare chickens to eat.

Mornin' :caf

Going on day 11 since last contact with anyone outide the home, which was when I went and yanked my kiddo out of school early because cases were popping up around us.

I can't give single state numbers because I'm close to several different states and cases are all around. Supplies are holding for now and the action of adding eggs to a reduced feed ration, in addition to the usual scraps, so far is working fine and everyone likes it.

I seem to need more caffeine in order to form anymore coherent sentences so I'm off to refill...

Here is a mask with pleats formed in the topstitching on the left and one with the pleats formed in the construction before the mask was turned.

Also watch out that you don't sew down a pleat in the topstitching. Making all the mistakes so you don't have to! :he

And here's your faithful seamstress (who needs a haircut but won't be getting it for several weeks.

Oddly, I happened to have a small box of the heavier masks I kept on hand for when I do spring and fall major coop clean outs and and a box of the lighter ones for when I'm kicking up too much dust or working with DE. I always have a supply of the "purple" gloves because I am allergic to latex. Who knew?

Just assume that the virus can be passed on through everything. glove and stay home if you can. It just makes good sense to do that. I would rather be a shut in then get sick and possibly pass it on to someone else.

Too cold here to do anything with the garden 😔 so I might just go out and rake up some leaves..... miss having chickens so do all that work for me ;)

I got an alert from an acquaintance that the virus can be passed on at gas pumps. Good idea to wear gloves to gas up and then throw them out. Even a shopping bag over the pump would be helpful.

I put a paper towel in bleach water and used that over my finger while pushing buttons and around the handle while pumping. No gloves to be found here. Not sure I trust plastic shopping bags recently acquired to be germ free.....if they are old bags I would trust them more.

I am also carrying a small bottle of hand sanitizer in my pocket. No I didn't buy it. I made it. 1 part aloe gel to 2 parts 70% alcohol.
