Or maybe I will get the virus and drop dead so I won't need a retirement fund. Bonus, I wouldn't have to worry about developing Alzheimer's.
I asked hubby how long it would take with the government passing out $1000 a month to recover all we lost. He couldn't even figure it out in his head, and he used to be a banker!

This reminds me of the episode in The Marvelous Mrs Maizel in which Midge's father, the mathematician, comes to grips with the bottom falling out of his life by calculating how long and he his wife can afford to live and how much longer one can live if they're lucky enough to have the other go first.

Pretty pessimistic in the description but hilarious on the screen.

Yes the market will come back I'm sure.
Same thing happened back after '08, a lot pulling out cause it dropped when they should've rode it out and bought low.
16yrs I've been putting into my 401k it averaged aroud 3-4g a yr and that was with what I put in. Some yrs better and a few yrs after '08 pretty bad. Last yr I gained 20g like WOW! I took a look a few weeks ago and that gain is gone already, I'm going to do the same thing I did several yrs ago, not even look at it till next yr Lol!

It would be real bad if tanked by yourself. But everyone is tanking together. The business are not worth less-just people not buying stock in them.

At least we are not getting caught with our hand in the cookie jar-like the 4 senators. Imagine-it's like making money on our suffering. I hope they go to jail.

I also ordered a bator last night...ohhhh those late night Amazon searches! It seems like I may not be able to get chicks of any sort from anywhere this year, even the few locals who had barnyard mixes for sale online are sold out and are taking orders into June! So I’ll make my own I guess.
IMO, that's a whole lot more rewarding ... not to mention FUN ... \ anyway!

I'm sure there are thousands and thousands of people that have the virus and don't know it.
And while, on a very basic level, that's terrifying, on another it's actually a comfort. Most of us will go through this with mild or no symptoms. It is my energetic and prayerful hope that everyone reading this - and everyone they know and love - experiences this virus in just that unobtrusive way ... without missing a step!

Don't panic on it. You can think of it as a really good sale. If you can buy, buy. The stock market didn't tank because the individual stocks that reflect the economy and companies. What goes down will come back up. The items in your stock portfolio are not worth less. They are just not being bought at this time. I hate it when I can't be optimistic!

Everyone's entitled to rant and it makes you feel better. Just don't forget chicken forum rules.
I think it's really cool how we are supporting eachother-whoda thunk it would be thru chicken people.
'
I guess that came out wrong ... I refuse to look at it, not because I'm complaining, but because I'm in it for the long haul, not momentary market fluctuations. If I expected short term gains, I never would have put the money in there in the first place. I've survived some pretty significant market bumps. I'm confident it'll pull through this one, as well. I just can't stay right on top of it or I'll go NUTS!!!!!

NO POLITICS, PLEASE.

Please explain to me why it's advisable to ignore the world around you? We have to make important decisions based on what happens, who is equal to the challenges, who is not and who exploits the situation rather than serving the citizens they're sworn to protect. Why on earth, when we're in a crisis, would we not be paying attention, evaluating and discussing such things???????????????????????????!
