if you suspect your chickens have coronavirus or want to be preventative increase their housing temperatures and give them half concentrated powdered milk in their waterers instead of plain water. Temperature to kill coronavirus hasnt been studied enough yet but some strains tend to die out in hotter tempurates therefore arent as contagious in summer months

Please explain to me why it's advisable to ignore the world around you? We have to make important decisions based on what happens, who is equal to the challenges, who is not and who exploits the situation rather than serving the citizens they're sworn to protect. Why on earth, when we're in a crisis, would we not be paying attention, evaluating and discussing such things???????????????????????????!
You misundertood my post. Believe me, I am certainly NOT ignoring any of this. The only reason for that post was:
Oh, by the way, all BYC rules apply. Be nice, and let's keep politics out of our discussion.

"Hence it is evident that the state is a creation of nature, and that man is by nature a political animal. And he who by nature and not by mere accident is without a state, is either above humanity, or below it; he is the ‘Tribeless, lawless, hearthless one,’ whom Homera denounces—the outcast who is a lover of war; he may be compared to a bird which flies alone. " - Aristotle

If you ask me what COVID is like where I am chances are good the answer will include;

Something about our governors/senators actions, both locally and on a national stage.
Something about the state of our local hospitals.
Something about our access to medical care, especially for my family.
Something about our access to paid sick leave.
Something about my friends who are working in the state being considered essential being paid MUCH less than non essential workers.
Something about the educational materials our government is releasing and how they are or are not being observed.
Something about how our local stores I frequent are doing, including our local Asian grocery I buy a lot of my favorite foods from.

All these things are political pieces of information. This subject is impossible to depoliticize entirely unless you narrow it down to "are you in the hospital? Yes or no". All in all, with the exception of some misinformation, it's been fairly civil which I think is the most important thing.

You can't even really ask "how many cases are there" and get an accurate answer without "well X reported but we know there's not enough testing to be accurate".

We aren't ignoring the world around us. In accordance with BYC RULES, we are choosing NOT TO DISCUSS the politics of the issues here on this forum. This forum is about the immediate survival of sanity between friends. There are plenty of other places online to talk about politics ... Discuss them there to your hearts content, but please keep them OFF of this forum!
