Motivation IS key. I don't feel close to knowing a situation until I know the motives. And I'll accept greed, love, stupidity, aulturism, religion, idealism...
I just want to know why they're doing it.

Well I guess let me put it this way. So far in the address to the nation he said let's cap the cost of insulin to 35 dollars a month. Sounds good right? Sounds affordable right? Nope because they're not saying the drug company can't charge what they do. Instead they make a federal subsidy paid by the tax payer to ensure the drug company gets paid. That's how businesses get "too big to fail". Again...follow the money.

Very well put. I'm very concerned we might end up in a world war because of all of this. Russia has violated the Geneva convention with the weapons it has used. I may not be in Ukraine or have relatives from the there but I worry for those people and for the implications

Don't forget Duty. That was a major one for my mother. She was always harping on that. We should do things, not for money or because it gave us joy, but because It Was Our Duty.

Duty - Honor, seems old school today but if you have it, it makes you you. It lets you sleep at night and look yourself in the mirror in the morning. Someone told me to be polite to jerks not because THEY deserve but because YOU are better than that.

Touche'. We would hope that always Seeking the Truth would be in everyone's Code of Honor but it's so easy to fall back on prejudices.
Reminds me of Rhett Butler's character who tells Scarlett "I'm not in the habit of killing men who tell the truth."
