I agree. At least not in my lifetime. Though I sorely want to know what is Really going on.
I keep reminding myself that the definitive book on the 1918 Flu wasn't published until 2005. I feel like the history of this epidemic will be over half of special interest following their own ends.
 
It's not a formal study but I notice that when I get a covid patient at the hospital it's about 50\50 chance they were vaccinated. A lot of my patients are 'with' covid and not necessarily 'for' covid.
We still have a dedicated ICU for Covid but most of the medical (floor) patients are in regular single rooms in isolation, like someone with TB.

The Louisiana Governor is suppose to lift covid restrictions today (I didn't realize we still had any) but the City of New Orleans is waiting another week or two (to save face, or hold on to that power a little longer.)
