My girl , 18, is relieving HER stress by baking cookies and playing jokes on me. She called from down the hall: "Grandma, come quick, I need your help! I'm not sure how this happened, but the toilet is smoking and the water is escaping!" So I went into the bathroom and saw this:

You might be able to?

https://www.verywellhealth.com/hepatitis-and-blood-donation-1759986
"Hepatitis A is mainly spread by contaminated food and water. If you are infected with hepatitis A, you will likely experience symptoms of the disease (including jaundice, fatigue, and nausea). Once recovered, the virus will be fully cleared from your blood and protective antibodies will remain to prevent future infection.3

If you have ever had hepatitis A, there is nothing barring you from donating blood. If, however, you have signs of hepatitis, whatever the cause, you will not be allowed to donate until you have fully recovered."
There are vaccines for Hep A now. If you have not been hep A + in the past I highly recommend you get this done. 2 easy shots in the arm. Great protection if you are ever in a high population setting for a period of time. Like having to live in a shelter after a disaster.

Well, my girls (9 hens) and rooster laugh daily about all this business. They keep giving me eggs, and I keep giving them their food/water/scratch, and I have a nice whiskey while they cluck at me from their pen in the evenings.

Recently I traded a dozen eggs for probably about $20 worth of nails to complete my garden beds - the bartering economy has begun! OK maybe not really... but he did also ask me if I needed any ammunition for eggs too..? Really? Is it coming to that? I think not..!

Main differences for me are being a little more consistent with batching my shopping trips for necessities, keeping an eye on sanitation and whatnot, and getting back into bread-making (did you know natural yeast is easy to capture? Ask me how!)

But chances are we'll all get this virus sooner or later - so my advice, for anyone who's reading, is stay as healthy as possible and help us all to keep the spread as slow as possible while our country's infrastructure catches up with demand!

Seriously, though, my honest and sincere best wishes go out to any and all who are currently suffering, or who may be at risk, during this time.

We recently bartered eggs for fresh from the tree pecans. :highfive: Yes it has begun. :lau

Around here NY state I was confused by the mask shortage cause they have very few cases, most counties with between 2-8. A few more populated counties with up to 200. My county says eight but they say only three lived here five of them just used addresses here. Still have four counties with zero.
And everywhere asking for masks even handmade one's. Even Broome county that has the small city of Binghamton in it is only 18 cases. Friend of mine is a nurse in a hospital there said a couple weeks ago he had to keep his mask in a paper bag when on break and reuse it they were so short.
Just guessing but I think probably all NY state hospitals sent most of theirs to the city.
Airing out PPE and reusing it is going on all over the country, hopefully industry will catch up, however in the mean time people in health care have to keep their patients, themselves and the outside community as safe as possible. Even if it means airing out PPE and reusing it. Sometimes reality sucks.

Problem with this virus is that by the time symptoms are showing up, if they do at all, you could be soon dead. It's such a short incubation period followed by such an extended period pre-symptomatic where you're contagious and spreading the virus without knowledge. That's why this has become a global pandemic. Look back a few months to see the facts of how it spread throughout China. It came in waves because nobody knew they were infected yet and they were spreading it without knowledge. Just because there are no reported cases does not mean that there are no infected disease carriers paying this on.
We can beat this into submission! We don't have an effective method for curing the ill, but it's coming.
We now have the knowledge of the method of this disease, we have to utilize this by being rediculously fastidious and proactive to prevent any further fatalities causes by ignorance. Lack of knowledge and understanding is what has killed people and spread this disease.
Canadian doctors have isolated and cultured the Covid19 virus and are working on developing an effective vaccine to prevent the spread. This will be a long term problem folks.
Right now we're on the defensive line and we have to hold that line or so many lives will be lost needlessly.

We still take our dogs for walks every day. Sometimes around the block, sometimes at the park. What difference does it make? We're outside and not close to other people.
It does make a difference. Cause its healthy to go outside. To exercise a little. And it’s not dangerous at all if you keep a distance.

UV light /sunlight kills virus’s. Even if its not sunny there is UV light. But unfortunately it doesn’t stop the virus’s inside a body or under clothes.

It should help to disinfect you’re hands and the groceries after shopping if you expose them to the sun long enough.
Sadly I don’t know how long it takes for the sun to kill this virus.
