:lau idk if I would have actually done it but I wanted to. They were pissing me off that day :lau

Killing anything in/because of anger is never a good choice; although lately I have considered doing that.

We are going to get a lecture post saying to make our own thread 🤐

:hmm

In mid March there were rumours that Nepal is going to close it's borders with India so I hitchhiked accross the border and bought marijuana and alcohol for my father, because marijuana is illegal in India and Bihar is a dry State so I bought them in Nepal where both of them are legal and very cheap. I also bought him his favourite brand of cigarettes. I put them safely in my father's brand new cabinet under his newly constructed cabin. Now my father complaints that drinking and smoking is no fun without friends. Grrrr
Tell tour pops im own my way, im a good companion during quarantine 🙂🙃👍

Thank you for clarifying that, @igorsMistress. We didn't mean to be invasive. We are a family here and are naturally concerned and protective of "our own" here, just as we are of our physical relatives. Just checking to make sure you and your husband are okay, it is a relief to hear from you! :hugs
I didn't feel you were, just making sure it's clear we aren't sick. It has been 8 days since my husband was exposed and he's fine, so am I. So far so good. The wife of the instructor isn't sick either and she's home caring for him.

AZ is now under a stay at home order. It's ridiculous what's on the list of essentials but we're only going out for daily walks with the pups and making grocery runs for fresh produce once in a while.

I about peed reading it. How the heck can this person have the degree he has 😂 it's not funny but it is...

To quote Dad: BS, MS, PHD - bullstuff, morestuff, piled high and deep. Sometimes high intellect is the enemy of common sense.
5PM!? I'd ask if you are 80 and go to bed at 9PM, but there's a lot of folks on here that actually are/do.

:frow

Actually elbow bumping is not really good either, since we are supposed to sneeze and couch into our bended arm (elbow). How about just a nod of the head?!? That’ll do for me!

Yes, you are so correct. I am trying to follow CDC guidelines. That elbow bumping doesn't make sense to me either. I am a "Bettiah Christian" an amalgamation of local converts, Christians expelled from Nepal and Anglo Indians that settled in the district of Bettiah during the British time (fun fact famous author and philosopher George Orwell was born in Bihar) we don't do "namastey", we also hug and kiss as greeting. We are not doing it anymore, we are also doing "namaste" 🙏 or a "salute".

I live in the village 50 km from Moscow (it`s Rusia), but i don`t travel to the city more ofter as 1-2 times in a year. Usually i went there in the spring before to plant the potatoes, in first days of may or in last days of april. But now width this covid 19 the goverment tell to be at home and i think that i will cancel this trip and went to the Moscow only in the autumn, because in the summer i am too busy here.
Now i sit at my house, play computer games, read forums, read books, try to play music width my deceased grandmother's accordion, and feed my animals. I also canceled my walks to the grocery store, because I usually go there only for halva, sweets and corn sticks, this is not so important. I have my own meat, eggs, milk or canned, frozen vegetables and fruits, because I have goats, chickens, ducks, geese, a garden and a vegetable garden. In summer it will be even easier - fresh vegetables and fruits will appear.
I watched Putin's address to the nation. Rather different concerns to many others I've read.
Interesting that is seems he is planning to raise tax levels on those who are trying to move money out of Russia. Also interesting that he plans to introduce tax on savings above a certain level.

This was an interesting read for me, as I'm in WA and I have a friend in NYC, so we've been comparing notes: https://www.yahoo.com/news/coronavirus-slowdown-seattle-suggests-restrictions-121913987.html

I think they glossed over some of the differences between WA and NY, though. For example, many of WA's cases have been and still are in nursing or care home system. And although we both have a "big city" Seattle is far less dense than NYC with an overall smaller population.
Completely left field idea (and only 1/2 cup of coffee so far so look out...) but I used to live in Eugene OR and had a thought..
I wonder how much weather may change spread?
Not hot/cold, but the rain. I mean think about it...
Right now everything in the PWN is wet, has stayed wet, and will continue to be wet for a couple more months. If surfaces, like railings, playgrounds and such, are getting rained on every day then that could be a sort of cleaning measure all on it's own.
For it's size I found Eugene to be one of the cleanest places I had lived for all the rain washing things daily where as other much smaller cities/towns far dirtier.

Add in places like an underground subway system in NYC that never sees sunlight for disinfection, or water for general cleaning and that has to add to the potency of the virus... maybe?
Yeah, I know, no sun right now in PNW, but lots and lots of rain that by it's very nature could be helping to clean the general environment, at least a little bit. Could that be a possibility in why it didn't spread as much as NYC and NJ? Along with a less dense hustle and bustle of people of course.

....like I said, harebrained idea, half a cup of coffee, morning time here...please be kind...

I changed the title of this thread to truly reflect the state of it now that you guys have been yammering on about other stuff. Carry on chatting about the virus and or what you are doing to cope on a daily basis. If any of you do get way off topic here in the future, feel free to start another type chatting thread.

Enjoy!
