All schools, colleges and child care facilities are closed here in Ireland now...
Most of the colleges have switched to online classes. Harvard was the first to announce that. Public schools are closing for a day or two for “deep cleaning.” They are asking businesses that can, let their employees work from home. I’m sure it will get worse for a bit longer.

We don't have the virus in our town (yet), but I would expect it in the next few days to a week since there was one case about an hour away. We are starting to see facemasks in stores now so it's getting a little weird.

I'm sort of a survivalist myself, so I have food and supplies on hand at all times. I've been trying to buy hand sanitizer online but every place is sold out. Fortunately there is a small flea market outside of town that had some available. Crazy!!

My boss is a bit of a germaphobe and is already talking about closing the office and working from home. Fortunately, that works for us because much of what we do is electronic.

I have eggs in incubator, so it is nice to stay home (I would not order new eggs -chicks at this point through the mail), DH was trying to scope out HI trips, because they were good deals, (couple weeks ago) and his brother who was already vacationing in HI said "if you didn't all ready book it don't go" He said he got the last hand sanitizer while there. Then I was reading in Australia people were fighting over toilet paper, so when I read that it was an hr before our local store closed. I told HD we are going to the store, NOW! They were out of hand sanitizer and lower on TP than I had seen before. I bought a grocery cart full of TP and soups, but we did already have a lot of stored food. Our local area postponed many events, I stopped subbing at a preschool over a month ago (I didn't want to get sick, or see kids get sick), and hubby works from home. We like to be home body so we are okay with staying home, and hubsters can just take a vaca in the fall (hopefully).

I’m glad I don’t live there. I don’t even like hugging (never have) and a kiss, or two, would send me over the edge. #RespectTheBubble
My sister agrees with you. I actually nod my head to a lot of people I know except its kinda a backward nod cause we both like jerk our heads a little up and make eye contact.

Just received a call from our financial guy trying to calm our 'fears'. Needless to say our investments are getting whacked. Princess said it best when she told him, "It should be our kids' worry as it is their inheritance." :lau We do have two trips planned. One in May to California for grandson's college graduation, and one to Europe in Sept. We have trip insurance on both of them so any losses will be minimized if we have to cancel. I will admit that I am gradually building a dog food supply - just in case. We always have a good supply of 'people food' on hand.

@Mimi13 you don't want to meet me. I am a world class hugger. :hugs

Our retirement fund is down to about 50% of what it used to be. At this rate, might have to go back to work.

Can't like that. Our retirement plans and SSI cover all necessities so investments are just for 'extras'. We've always been good about adjusting our life style to our means.

Starting to look like my 8 year old truck will have to last another 8 years.

I just heard that travel to the US from Europe has been suspended except from Great Britain. This also includes all trade.
What have you experienced, and are you experiencing shortages in your area? Have you been sick, or do you have friends or family that are?
Italy has closed commerce except for pharmacies and food stores.
I haven't noticed any difference here. I have a month's worth of animal feed (maybe two months) and plenty of human food at all times, so honestly, I don't need to change my regular routine for anything less than the zombie apocalypse itself.
