I believe Covid 19 is a serious threat to those already dealing with health issues and older people. The bad thing is many of us will contract the virus and never even know it, going on about our daily rituals as if all is fine and then unintentionally passing it to those who are health compromised.

My 401K was slowly building back up since it took a hard hit in 2008. I’m sure it has taken another jolt, I haven’t looked and don’t want to.

The biggest threat of covid is TO old people, but it's FROM poor people who can't afford doctors visits and staying home from work, who don't have a living wage or healthcare despite working even full time. It's just not possible for most of the population to take a week off or self quarantine. And being broke and over worked lowers your immune system anyhow. We could take a week off of work and self quarantine. We're moving into spring/summer, the farm will get rolling, we could live here with no outside interaction and on stored food for months. But we're the exception, not the rule.

We're up to five cases in the state. The other problem is it's exponential. By the time it's a nearly unsolvable problem you've already spent weeks sitting on just a few cases here and there.

Went grocery shopping today. Tons of people in the store, and only one pack of TP on the shelves. Also cleaners were all but gone. The whole isle was bare. Everything else was in stock tho.

Just received a call from our financial guy trying to calm our 'fears'. Needless to say our investments are getting whacked. Princess said it best when she told him, "It should be our kids' worry as it is their inheritance." :lau We do have two trips planned. One in May to California for grandson's college graduation, and one to Europe in Sept. We have trip insurance on both of them so any losses will be minimized if we have to cancel. I will admit that I am gradually building a dog food supply - just in case. We always have a good supply of 'people food' on hand.

@Mimi13 you don't want to meet me. I am a world class hugger. :hugs

My guy called yesterday, said I was down 3% because I was so diversified
I told him I wasn't worrying about the market, it was high and will come back up.
No tp ECT in the stores. I did stock up on frozen veggies, but this is normal since I hate going to the store... It will be awhile before I can plant the garden.

No TP, soap, hand sanitizer or bread left in any of the shops near me..
At least I have plenty of eggs.. lol

We have a few cases here the store shelves are empty on pasta tp clean supplies. It’s crazy
I went to get some toilet bowl cleaner at WalMart yesterday. Except for a couple bottles of a brand I don't use there wasn't any. The rest of the cleaning products aisle looked like a plucked chicken. I didn't check toilet paper. Blew me away. I live in Missouri. Hardly a Hot Zone.

Only "good news" I can give folks is once the initial panic dies down, and people go into hiding, stores will start restocking most of the stuff. Toilet paper aisle is still a bit sparse but last I checked a couple days ago, there was a decent re-supply of various brands.
