Our governor is being hard line. The jack asses got the state and county parks shut down because they could not comply. I think our local park is still open. So far folks there have been good about social distancing.
I'm really sick of the people that are not complying to the social distancing because they are ruining a lot of things for others.

I’ve been a stay at home mom for close to 4 years now and I planned on homeschooling so I will continue to be home with my kids 24/7 til they’re 18. So I’m used to it and I love seeing my husband every day, but I do feel we are best friends and can talk all day every day and still have something new to say and discuss. But I am also aware that not everyone has that type of relationship with their family.

Edited to add: my side of the family lives on the other side of the country so I’m used to not seeing them but once a year. And sadly this year I might not see them at all due to this.
That is so lucky! I hate it with all my heart, so I’m envious of you! However, I get tired of even my best friends in the whole world sometimes. I’ve been in isolation with my family for a month, and now we are all so tired of each other it’s hard to get back to normal. That’s how the relationships deteriorate. I think we are lucky, though- some families are actually ripped apart becuase of this, and we still love each-other and hang out together.

I got the same clay. :D Pretty pretty red.....
Amending like crazy is working for the rose beds, but for the veggies I've done raised beds, muck tubs, buckets, giant pots, grow boxes, mounds of compost/dirt mix...I'll grab whatever I can whenever it's on clearance because I'm too cheap top get the real ones. I save feed bags too. Good for growing and sewing into shopping bags.

My best garden bed is where I started a lasagna garden the winter before planting on the ground. Cut grass, shredded paper, straw, whatever, and repeat. Topped off with a few bags of soil at planting time and it's done really well.
I've looked into straw bale gardening, but honestly am afraid of the chemicals used on the crops in the fields before the dried stuff is baled for straw.
I forgot about the lasagna method!! I meant to try it last year but never did. Now of course it’s too late. Maybe I can try it next year 😂

I'm wondering how many people are actually isolating in their homes and not going to stores or going out in public...

There are actually maps of that based cell phone records. I'll see if I can find one again.

You see so many interesting things these days but they fly by and I'm not doing a good job of capturing things I might want later...

I like the pots because they are easy to move, but they're a pain in the butt to water all the time. I will see how my black thumb kills everything this year 😂
I have a natural green thumb lol I don’t even try and stuff grows so well!!! I usually end up with way more plants than we have room for whenever I start seeds 😂🙈

That's super great you're doing so well with it. :)

I really rely on my small but tight network of family and friends I see regularly. I don't have that any more. My home feels empty. I love the people in it but it feels barren. I used to have gatherings of at least 2-3 guests at minimum once a week. Usually more. At this time of the year I'd be throwing cookouts and gardening parties and midnight walks to the ice cream shop on the corner and dog rescue events and picnics and and and....

On the BA Test kitchen (great youtube cooking series) they started doing quarantine videos from home and one of the people said they missed having eaters. People to eat their food and share it and I just started crying. I miss having my community I cook for and love. I miss having eaters. I miss my network of love and support very badly.

Sending you some love and support Chocolate.
I'm an introvert and even I am getting stir crazy down here. Though I work from home, I'm in town every day taking kiddo to school, then getting feed or supplies on a regular basis. This time of year I LIVE for new gardening plants, seed starts, herbs, and most of all rose shopping. I count down the days until the area Lowe's will get in their rose shipments and I can see touch, and smell the David Austin English rose varieties for myself and decide what to plant for the year. My place had 0 landscaping when I bought it so I'm starting from scratch. Touching and inhaling the fragrance of fresh herbs starts is also high on my must haves list.

I know this isn't the same as dinner parties, which I used to have all the time pre-kiddo/resulting allergies, but rose and herb hunting are my dinner parties now. Stay strong, we're here for you.

I did try a tomatoe pot on the deck because of the ground hog. He came up on the deck anyway.
And strawberries in a hanging topsy turny plastic bag to keep the Chipmunks away, they got up on the roof and went down to get them.
