Thank you for posting this. This is the ripple effect. I don't think most people understand how interconnected things are or the impacts levers have (the butterfly effect?), but this video explains this instance in a very easy to understand way (in my opinion).

I saw someone posting about meat processing plants closing. Yes, some have, but there are almost 900 plants in the US. That's 18 plants per state!! It will take a lot more than a few closing to have a real impact.

But if you work there, no paycheck. Pretty soon everyone is out of work!

A couple of weeks ago the meat areas were empty here. Now there is plenty. The panic buying only causes short term shortages (longer the farther from the city you live).

I bet the people that buy 10 loaves of bread are so sick of eating bread by now. They get moldy what, after 2 weeks?

I’ve been eating tons of bread

Yes it has been a little tight here actually. Ironically my daughter went across the valley to her storage unit and stopped at stores over there. She's finding meat on sale but in our local stores it's slim pickins.

Dairy farmers are producing milk but processing plants are having to dump it.

it's a shame.. Time for local farmers to come back.

Thanks, BDutch. I've bookmarked it. And thanks for pointing out that the chit chat can become an impediment for people whose first language isn't English. I think your new more focused thread is a smart solution to that problem.

He didn’t write it. I think the quote got messed up somehow. But I think it’s been deleted now. Anyhow, how are you today? Hopefully better weather than we have?

In the video, I kept expecting the first mostly black cow who walked up to reach out and swipe him...was not expecting the mostly white one that came up later to be the one.
As a kid I always thought, and still do, how funny it feels being licked by a cow or a calf.

Now I have a horse who loves to lick. He doesn't have a sandpaper tongue but he does have a constantly muddy face from grazing near the creek.

I’m surprised he kept a straight face!!! first the cow peeing right behind him then the cows continuously sneaking up on him

The quote somehow got all messed up. He was quoting somebody else. I couldn’t see the name and thought it was him at first too but then I remembered reading that exact post a while back which is how I figured it out haha

Hate might have been a bit of a strong word.... but it is not my favorite LOL

Although that said, good bacon I kind of like.... is that better?

Some of it gives me headaches too lol so that’s part of it. Can only eat certain kinds without all the additives and stuff. Which is usually NOT the kind we happen to have.

I like sausage.

Although again only certain sausage. Usually Jones.

Am I redeemed yet?

ETA: oh and I like tea. I get my caffeine from that.
