Oh, I get that. I'm still needing to go to the stores 2 or 3 times a week since I eat a lot of produce. And some of my local stores are limiting items to no more than 2 of any given item. Plus for people with a limited pantry or refrigerator space, or larger families, it's impossible to store that much food, even if they can buy it all in one trip.
I can't wait for when this finally settles down.
My dad is even tempted to eat the chickens, even thought I told him that they are more useful alive. He seems to forget that in the old times, people raised chickens for eggs and survived.

@rosemarythyme
Well, we live in the country so most of the people in a 20 mile radius goes to that one store or the others around it. There is at least always 50 people in the store at once in the day time, and the limity is causing problems. All the canned foods are gone, which forces people to shop quite frequently. And also the limit in how much you can get is also causing problems with families that have many people. It's just hard to get food that doesn't run out in a week.
I heard someone at the store saying exactly this. She & hubs work full time still, she was caught off guard by all of this and they have 3 kids and her MIL at home. They're having to shop on weekends and the MIL tries to get stuff during the week they couldn't find.

I buy produce and freeze it from fresh. Especially berries and everything but leafy greens.

I got a bunch of organic baby carrots and steamed them with liquid smoke. So delicious! I also steamed potatoes which I'm using for 3 potato mashed potatoes tomorrow.

Itll prolly be ok waiting 2 I do 3 just to be sure. Especially since it's usually not my chickens. So nobody can say anything 3 is safe
Wonder what the deathlayer and golden comet cross will look like. Most I assume I'll use for meat, but maybe I'll keep 1 or 2 pullets.

I'm butchering a few Cockerels this week, I think they're 12 weeks. They aren't jersey crosses, I think they're olive egger crosses. They are from eggs someone gave me so no clue. They're pretty meaty though.

Sounds like my kids. My youngest eats noodles, ice cream, and other things all at once 🤮 he eats 5 course meals almost every meal. He's very athletic so you can't even tell he eats like a 🐖
Thats sounds like my brother! He eats cheese whole, with nothing else, just a slice of cheese with the side of 10 more slices. He thinks of the separately packaged cheese slices as a "grab and go". :sick

I’m hoping I won’t have to buy produce at the store this year. Growing tons of veggies this year. :lau

Yeah once the garden gets going it greatly reduces the amount of produce I need, which is the bulk of my weekly shopping. But we're not quite there yet... ask me again in June or so!
