My husband's work is talking about closing the doors. They're not sure yet though.

There's beginning to be serious talk about this lockdown lasting far longer than the few weeks - and not just on the grapevine. It's starting to show up in official feeds. I work in the public school system. Even if I get it and recover, schools will stay minimal, if not closed. We won't starve, but how am I going to pay my mortgage?

They're talking about till August my husband's work just had a meeting on it

It may, it may not. Depends on how and why. There's a lot of people in prison for some pretty minor non-violent infractions, like weed possession. Those people released early have a better chance of reintegrating into society and a longer sentence doesn't actually make us any safer. So it may be more beneficial long-term.

I don't know if the situation is different in the US than in Canada, but there are more people here in jail awaiting trial than in sentenced custody. I would assume that it's similar in other places.

I just heard that travel to the US from Europe has been suspended except from Great Britain. This also includes all trade.
What have you experienced, and are you experiencing shortages in your area? Have you been sick, or do you have friends or family that are?
Italy has closed commerce except for pharmacies and food stores.

After a quick trip to my local super market yesterday for corned beef cabbage and taters, i am glad i slaughter a steer some chickens and a pig last fall. Now i just have to locate some Irish taters...

Mine is out of a lot of food. I'm glad I stocked up at the beginning of last month because I thought we might get snow, but we never did.

I was given pre-packaged (tv dinners) food. It smells of cat, and I actually don’t know if it’s okay to eat. Opinions?

I'm in Alberta, Canada and all schools province wide are closed. Includes daycares. No toilet paper to be found. Basically the shelves are empty.
I think it's becoming mass hysteria..
My Grandmothers funeral is tomorrow and now no one is going..She was 102..
