So funny! I was laughing today in the grocery store because a lot of the shelves had just one item, and it was exactly what I usually buy! I'm the only weirdo who buys that brand of organic coconut milk, or collard greens, or the good kind of cheddar apparently :). My store had zero beans and rice though :(.
I live in a county where I swear I'm the only vegan 😂 so I fill my cart while everyone else complains there's no frozen pizza or boxed Mac and cheese.

I love coconut milk with my lotus foods ramen noodles, it's the best. Weird thing is... I won't eat coconut I don't like the flavor but the milk is yummy.

I have 30 lbs of rice and 20 lbs of beans at all times. My grocery shopping is the same whether theres a crisis going on or not. I love steamed brown rice

I don't want to upset anyone by saying this -- though I probably will -- but even if the government reforms the medical system, I don't think that the cost would be reduced so that everyone can afford it. A medical system where every person can afford everything that they need would be a perfect system -- and there are few, if any, perfect things in this world, because it is a fallen world. And medicare for all wouldn't exactly be perfect either, because taxes would be raised -- probably quite a bit -- in order to pay for the medicare that's being distributed to everyone. And "everyone" is not necessarily working as hard as you. In short, others would profit from your hard work while they themselves did nothing.
The world's systems and its people are flawed. No matter how hard people try, there will always be corruption. Always. All we can do is try to survive as best as we can while helping the people around us. Not everyone will be saved, but we can try our best to improve things for those around us.
Anyway, with that little rant over with, sorry if I offended anyone with my post. Be careful of the coronavirus, everyone.

Every other First World county in the world has figures this out. We're the only ones asking the permission of the insurance companies for what health care they'll permit for us and what they'll gouge us for it.

We need non-profit insurance companies; I think they're called co-ops. There's something like that where members pay into a pool and costs are paid out of that. Can't remember what they're called.

Me too, Rooapalooza. I am wondering how many of my Los Angeles neighbors will know what to do with all the rice and dried beans they've scooped up. I already have that stuff sitting in my pantry. And I've pretty much been able to get what I needed or what appealed to me because of my contrary preferences. The only thing I'm running out of and haven't been able to replace yet is flour. But we've got several types of freshly baked bread. Yum!

I’m not vegan, but I like vegetarian meals now and then. The only processed food I buy is coffee creamer (soy) because I’m lactose intolerant, hotdogs and ketchup. Occasionally I buy tofu and that’s processed, but it’s always available. I can, freeze or dry my garden produce and herbs. And because I get paid once a month I shop for at least a month or more. Just the way I live.[/QUOTE]

I know how to cook them. It's easy with an instant pot 😁 but I know how to cook them without it too.

It's not that non-Chinese immigrants brought the virus to Italy, but that immigrants in the country have latent TB that they brought from their home countries. The high number of cases in Italy is almost certainly due to the hundreds of thousands of Chinese in Italy working on the Belt and Road Initiative. Italy is the only country in Europe to sign on to the BRI.
Is this a wild guess? This is what the media here wrote: The number of COVID-19 infections in Italy has grown from four to more than two hundred in just four days. How exactly the situation could escalate in a short time is still unclear, for which the Italian authorities are diligently looking for 'patient zero'.

They Never found the person who brought Corona to the North of Italy.
