I'd love to "share" too but my neighbors are afraid of "yard eggs", even though they are gathered every morning. I hope I don't have to waste any of them but there are way too many for my immediate family to consume and not enough to sell. WOW, what to do???

Have you seen the movie Flipped? It's really cute and family friendly. I would recommend it to anyone on here. It has the same situation with neighbors being afraid of yard eggs. People are funny.

Thank you for asking. Like many here I'm hanging in. We are not in the age group for at risk, however we have medical conditions that put all of us in the at risk category, especially my teenager. Overall I'd say we live in a more forward thinking state but our local area had been very blase and dragging their feet.
So last week, a few days ahead of school closures, I pulled my kiddo out of school because the risk was just too high. Of course I was met with the "crazy mom" looks but kiddo is safe and all of us are tucking in to wait things out.

Also, like many we have plenty of eggs. Yep...plenty of those.
And having been a gardener the last fifteen years we are never short of something to eat. Unfortunately I did NOT stock up on chocolate. :hit
SMH...in all the variations that have been expressed here, plus a new one ....DOH!!😦
Chocolate is one of my main homestead prepping supplies. As a diabetic it is sugar free but...

I use a mindfulness app called Headspace; it's made a dramatic difference with my lifelong insomnia issues...and it's just made available for free a whole section of activities and meditations for dealing with the COVID-19 situation. Try it! It may help you keep a more even keel for the next few weeks. One of the founders is a Buddhist monk, and a lot of the practices come from Buddhism as well as neurology.

View attachment 2055148I have one of these sorts of things for my small local on foot shopping forays. Today I loaded it into my car and I am using it now as a shopping cart. No more need for alcohol wipes or sanitizer. I only touch something that I alone handle.

That is so smart! I usually just put things in my usually shopping bag and then dump the whole thing on the belt to check out, but it gets really heavy when I'm getting water refills or milk or pet food, which is always. I'll have to look into putting wheels and a long handle on one of my sturdier bags.

To every cloud there is a silver lining.

Utilize the 'ignore' option. :hugs
This is stressful enough without people bickering back and forth. This is dividing people and not bringing them together. It's crippling our country and not because of the virus itself, it's people who keep playing the blame game.

What we need to do is be there for each other and offer a lending hand to our fellow neighbors if they're not sick. If they are leave baskets on their doorstep... We need to be there for those on social media who are worried for their lives because this is not a joking matter. Text your family or that old friend just to check in, you never know who you will help...

I think each and every person on this thread has a brain. It doesn't matter whether you believe the news media or government or any other source to tell you the truth. It doesn't matter if you think people online are panicking and sensationalizing. From all different sources we glean a bit of information. Keep on telling what's going on in your area, even if someone else thinks it's biased. We have brains, we'll use them.
