What is this site? Looks cool.

In case anyone does the math...I saved with my Kroger's points.

I paid $1.42.
I paid 1.19 one time because I had so many Kroger points 😂
I need to start using our grocery points. Maybe next time. Won’t be long.

If your nearest grocery is 30 miles away ....
You live 30 miles from a gas station or grocery store!? :ep :th

Jersey giant crosses don't grow fast if it's for meat. If not then they make great big birds for your flock. I've also noticed predators don't mess with my jersey giant or his offspring. I think it's because they're so big... Remember when you thought they were turkeys 😂
Oh yeah, true, probably not the fastest but good meat birds! You said your JG/BR cross was great right!?

And :lau yessss!! They were huge!!!!

Hmmm, my friend's Australorps must have come from a runty line. The 1 yro roo is so-so sized and the hen fairly light, compared to Australorps from previous flocks that is.

I've heard and read really good things about Dorkings. True all purpose heavier breed, only problem is finding them. If my....er, um....her set up was different she might special order some of these spendy little guys and keep a small pure flock.

Brahmas...hmm, thought of those too. She once had three Light Brahma hens. Meanest nastiest hens she's ever had and now she's ascared of them.
Oh, she knows.... Nice birds they said. Sweet hens they said.... yeah, "they" lied.

She had Rangers before. She wasn't sure she was all that impressed. Not to mention they would need ordering in each time, so not sure that's they way to go.
In addition to the aforementioned Brahmas, she also had the nastiest roo on the planet. It was a Welsummer. Made a RIR roo look like a sissy. 😒

All good suggestions, thank you. Keep them coming as it's good food for thought. And now is a good time to ponder such things.

My Orpingtons are like that lol pretty small/runty. But my Australorps are huge. Especially one of them. Maybe it’s cause they eat a lot. :lau

Yeah, if she wants a self sufficient flock, Rangers might not be the way to go. Although they may at least add a bit of size fairly quickly, though I’m not sure if breeds true.

She could always try several different breeds first and then decide which ones she likes and wants to keep/continue with.

And I hope my Welsummer boy doesn’t turn out to be a jerk! :ep :th

I swear by Jersey Giants. All I had were the best. Never a problem with a rooster either. They were from Maria's Jerseys-best in the country.
Might have to try some eventually!!
I had or have both. Love them both. I think SS might be a bit more nosy. Nice birds

Yeah, my SS loves following me LOL

I saw a post earlier...someone who doesn't even work talking about how bad they needed this free money.
I laughed out loud if you catch my drift.

What a joke.

Was it someone who probably can't afford things like saving for education or emergencies? Someone with a disability or serious mental health condition? Someone living off the good graces of others but probably could get out of that with the right support and care? Or someone struggling to find a job that doesn't suck out their soul that can compete with multi-million dollar businesses whose employees don't get a living or fair wage?

Personally, unless you know them very intimately I would always think awfully carefully before judging. You never know when something goes wrong and you won't be able to work and that kind of money might be a real blessing to you.

Being kind is always best.

A long read (no inspirational memes I'm afraid) from a world class scientist.

I didn't finish it all but got the tone of the blog and this has been my general thinking on the entire pandemic from the start. It's the media that has caused a great deal of the current world state. I said it in the beginning and I'll say it now "wash your hands and keep them away from your face, eat a healthy whole non-processed diet, get exercise and manage your stress". That is the path to health and happiness. Not money, not things.
Not having TV in times like these is a true blessing. If you believe in that sort of thing...
