I'm glad to see the tone of this thread has calmed down a bit in the last hour. Things seemed to be getting a bit tense there for a while. I just wanted to chime in and say that of course we are all stressed out. This is a big deal and it's going to be awhile before things get back to the old "normal." As for those of you who are so adverse to the news media, for yourself, your feelings are valid. However, when it leads you to rely on bits of this and that and hearsay, how can that be more trustworthy than any professional news program? If you don't like network news, then go to your local news, be it TV or newspapers. We need to focus on being supportive of each other in our community and to share our coping strategies as well. We all are more fortunate than many people who live in small apartments with no backyard chickens to tend. So remember, it could be worse. For those who haven't tried it yet, exercise programs are very helpful in maintaining physical and mental health. You can download exercise videos or like me, Amazon Prime is my personal shopper. LOL! Try really hard to establish a new daily routine especially if you have children. You parents know that your kids do better with a regular routine because it helps them to know what is expected. I'm not saying anything you don't already know, but it's times like this we sort of forget. So this is just a friendly reminder. And remember too, "self care" is essential now more than ever. Stay healthy everyone.

how many people in your state have been tested?
They don't have numbers on that unless I find them. They're not testing people for bogus reasons and have asked everyone stay away from the hospital unless you have a temp and other Covid symptoms so they can prevent more of a spread.

4 people at my husband's work were tested all at my hospital and none had issues getting tested. Odd that people have have Covid symptoms get turned away. I have heard about North Dakota hospitals doing it too and it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard for hospitals to not test. Even if they test and tell the person to stay isolated.

If you're fine and positive then stay in isolation. If you feel like you can't go on any longer then head to the hospital.

People use the ER and ambulances all for the wrong reasons in this country that's why they created urgent cares to keep bogus non emergencies away.

Staying healthy is best. I'm glad I'm vegan, it probably helps me a lot. I feel less stressed and it keeps me grounded. I planted seeds today and it was really calming to me.

This is very true. In the Netherlands we managed to stop the increase of new infestations going up. But the numbers of the people who need hospital care and ICU still raise because it often takes 2 weeks before people get serious breathing / lung problems.

Social distancing really helps (>1.5 meter). No events and gatherings. All schools closed. etc. is becoming effective. But oxygen machines and ICU’s are filled up at the end of next week. Right now they are preparing more beds and try to get hold on more means to help the very sick.

And for those who heard about the 16 year old boy on ICU: he is doing better and released from ICU.

I don't mind a few Cookie & Dough items and yes I skip them. But it’s not possible to ignore them if there are so many posts about cooking, baking and other food hobbies. Why don’t you all start another thread like: All about food during Corona crisis. There are enough to make it a fun thread.
Or you could start a thread and request people not post that type of thing?
