Same, that's what a lot of folks in my area are doing to get a little outside time while still safely maintaining distance from others (we're mostly on half acre to several acre parcels). Even with the rain, I saw one lady working on her garden, another family playing with their dog in the yard, etc.

We are doing yard work tomorrow. It's going to be 87 out.

Correct me if I'm wrong I often just go by what I heard and if you ask my DW my memory is ... Well I won't use her words lol.
Last week, or maybe few days ago more than one death every hour in NYC, today I heard one every 17 minutes.

Yeah, same here. Every time I hear a gas powered mower though I'm very glad I have a battery powered push mower. I won't have to go get gas anytime soon. Car or mower.

When places get out of hand that normally would need the riding mower, no gas for me please.....I've got equines to the rescue.

I didn't say it's a flu. I said the flu has a higher mortality rate. Read what I wrote.

Question....(not trying to be argumentative) when people in general say that the flu has a higher mortality rate, are they going by the yearly totals when they say this?

What I mean is...what if we (general we) take the number of deaths via the flu in a one month period and compare that to the death rate of Covid-19 in say, the last month. The world has only been at his for a few months now with Covid, not even a year yet, so how could there be enough data yet to accurately compare the two?
Are people who say this (about the flu) using statistical data? Or are they (whoever they are) using projections on what they think the death rate might be?

What statistics are you going by? Because no one ever heard of covid-19 a few months ago...

If you look at and can believe the data being reported it's simple math. Covid had less than 5% mortality rate until yesterday. I haven't calculated the numbers for today. According to the CDC the entire world has seen roughly 20k+ deaths so far from Covid but the US alone has seen 20k+ deaths for influenza. Depending on rate of infection for Covid19 it's mortality rate will likely come out at or maybe slightly above that of influenza.

Never been there and sure won't anytime soon. I wish they would stay down there. I've complained about them coming up here in droves... Down the road from us house haven't seen a vehicle in that driveway only once in 10yrs, been one with Jersey plates last couple weeks
DW said a few days ago they go for a walk every morning, elderly couple....could you imagine living down there thinking you have ....
I dont blame them for escaping, hopefully..

What's the mortality rate in NYC, they are testing a lot so mortality actually looks pretty safe. You want to hang out there right now?

I drove down my street today and there were 5 cars at one of my neighbors houses where there is normally only 1. People are not doing the right thing.
