No, not the governments fault that people aren't prepared. It used to encourage people to be self reliant. Now we live in a world of instant gratification and people who "depend on fast food because they can't cook."It's not the government's fault citizens aren't responsible for themselves. People just assume everything will be all great and when something happens they dont know how to respond so they freak out. And a certain political affiliation wants nothing more than to have the average american citizen having to count on them instead of being responsible for themselves. Nanny state.
