The good news is that Birx said CA and WA are beginning to pass the apex of their curves.

Are you seeing that?

It's still going up in WA (and I keep an eye on CA too, as I have a ton of extended family there, along with all my childhood friends, and hubby's entire work dept) and our dept of health has been struggling to keep accurate numbers (some sort of flaw in the tracking system) so we're a few days behind in terms of officially verified numbers. But from what I've read the main benefit we've seen from extended shelter at home is 1) our confirmed cases are expanding at a slower rate than a lot of other states, and at a slower rate than initial projections, so the curve is being bent, and 2) we still have hospital beds available to use.

State's death numbers still skew very heavily towards the eldest members of the population (80+), even moreso than before, due to the fact that the virus has gotten into multiple care/retirement facilities.

Can I have that in writing, and are you willing to be a reference

Commonly used as a human vermicide - for liver flukes I think.

He's an old guy - maybe my age. He was very active at one time, but has been less active recently.

He was on site on 3/27 in apparent good health - 81 years old. :fl

Thanks! Never heard of those before

Like for example, the couple that heard something about some drug POSSIBLY preventing Corona so they just took a fish med that sounded similar and the man died. Not sure about the woman. Or all the people that might start taking dewormer because it supposedly killed the virus in the lab test.

Well and that's just it. These people didn't feel secure with going to the doctor, and they don't have a way of protecting themselves, they were scared (for their lives) and they heard it might fix it. A similar chemical is a common fish tank cleaner and anti parasitic so they went for it.

People often do stupid things largely out of insecurity and needs that aren't met. And if the info they get is bad the thing they do might be bad too. So if someone says "This is safe and has good results" and they trust them and they're feeling scared they are much more likely to do something dumb.

There's so many ways it can be stopped. Like if they were confident in their health system, felt secure financially, had accurate information, felt confidence in their leadership, if they knew there was a lot of world wide effort to find vaccines, etc. But in every one of those places a ball was dropped.

And incidentally. The lady lived and she said she only did it because she trusted where she got her information from. :p She issued a statement asking people not to take it and to always double check their sources because you don't know who's actually got all the facts.

Rest assured, nobody thinks you're a bad person. ;)

Did she say where she got her information from?

I’m glad she lived and is now saying not to take it! I do still think it was a bit stupid though because even if they didn’t trust their doctors, most people that get this don’t even need to be hospitalized and social isolation and hand washing alone goes a long way. And this is also exactly why it’s important to always do your own research and not just believe what somebody else says.

But I’m sure she knows that now and it is terribly sad. :(

I wish he didn’t have to die for her to learn it.

That’s good, thank you. Just figured I would clarify haha and I do appreciate your insight because I never would have thought of some of this stuff before.
