I have always always wanted to try limburger. That Andrew Zimmerman guy ate it on his show once and it looked so delicious and gooey. I don't care if it stinks, I want some!!! Cheese ftw only the gooey kind tho!

My husband and I lived in France for a while when we were young. Camembert was a staple. We called it "smelly sock cheese" but, man!, did we develop a taste for it.

Funny thing that taste and smell are intimately related. Some smells warn us to stay away from thing. Some invite us. Some are a little iffy but they may belong to really delicious things!

And speaking of WWII fare, I've had a serious hankering for chipped beef on toast lately. Does anyone still sell chipped beef?

There's this news thing that says don't go to the beach because the virus can go in the water and then if a wave bursts spray on you you can get it.

IMO that's reaching. Either the salt water would kill it or it would be so dilute that not enough would get to you. If there's any medical people here , care to comment?
That sounds really strange to me. Sunlight supposedly kills viruses as does salt water I’m sure and even if it DID get in the water, surely it would be swept out to sea immediately as soon as the wave retreated??? It’s not the same patch of water that keeps coming back lol water doesn’t stay in one place. Clearly someone didn’t think that through or doesn’t understand how the ocean and waves, tides, currents, etc. work???

Exactly!! And it already has mutated a bunch apparently. There are tons of strains and I heard there is one that causes more deaths and a less severe one. But it could mutate even further.

We were discussing mutations at my house the other day. My husband said that viruses can mutate fast but, generally, they mutate into less virulent forms. I was a little incredulous but he explained that the more virulent the virus the more of its potential hosts it kills and, thus, it has a shorter eventual lifespan. The less virulent the strain, the more it can co-exist with its host and so, over time, the less virulent mutations dominate.

That's not research. That's my Nova-addicted Smithsonian magazine-reading husband talking. But it makes sense to me.

That’s sad. :(

Yes, that was near me. Posted some articles about it yesterday but I’m sure it got lost with how fast this thread is moving. I guess he tried to assault an employee too which is why they tackled him.

Definitely not me!!! :sick

I thought so too 😂 funny thing is I get sick if I drink too much but I can dip cookies in it just fine 😂
Quick joke....Q: Where does a grizzly bear get cookies? A: It rubs two Girl scouts together.

That makes sense to me too!!! Not exactly a good survival strategy to murder all your hosts 😂

And he sounds super smart haha I used to love reading and watching that sort of stuff but haven’t in a while 😂

Though now I kinda wanna watch some documentaries.

Yesterday I decided to watch some other channels and one channel They showed a clip of what someone said (it was either Trump or Fauci ) and switched back to the woman in the news room and while she reiterated what was said it was not the same! That fast! It really pi$$es me off. She should have just left the 10 second comment just stand on it's own without "reiterating"
