I was thinking the same thing...At my office we had an employee who was Japanese and she wore a mask to work once because she had a cold. She was told not to wear a mask, it scares peopleOne of the things my ex mother-in-law complained about, when they first returned from living in Japan (military), was that our culture had not adapted to better protecting those around them. Sick people there, would wear a mask, so their coughing, sneezing, etc., would not contaminate those around them. Young, and old alike would do this. It was a common sight, normal, and expected. It bothered her that people here would go in public, without any regard as to contaminating others.
