I'm good and everything will be okay. I'm very confident in that much.

I got everything to make homemade green bean casserole, candied carrots, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob. All the sides will be vegan. We got cherrywood smoked ham. My mother is quite upset that we won't be joining them on Sunday, but now they have extra time with the grandkids.

😊 No doubt. Today is Day 9, so only 5 to go.

I never thought I could be glad my MIL passed away last year. And I'm not glad, exactly, that's not the right word. I'll always miss her, she lived with us. But .... she was the busiest old thing, always going somewhere! She had Red Hat meetings and 3 or 4 other social clubs a week. She would never have sat still for this business of staying home and not going out and about! This would have made her crazy! I'm so glad I don't have to worry about her.

Turns out I am one of those continuous mask fiddlers... šŸ™ˆ it’s so damn itchy!!! :barnie

You know the mask doesn't protect the wearer, right? It protects everyone else in case the wearer is an asymptomatic carrier. So if you would touch your face less by not wearing a mask, don't wear one.

I actually mentioned to hubby that I'm glad his dad passed last year, though for different reasons. He was terminally ill with liver cancer. If let's say he had lived an extra year, he would've probably been told some of his procedures like drain replacements would have to be delayed, because hospital resources were needed for the virus, and then if things took a turn for the worse the way they had (where he needed to be on a ventilator) maybe he wouldn't have gotten one, or if he did and survived that part, he would've been alone in the hospital and unable to receive visitors.

One of the residents in my mom's assisted living facility has tested positive for the virus. 😟 I just received and e-mail and a call.

All the staff has been wearing cloth masks made by volunteers, for a couple of weeks now, but one employee did test positive not long ago.

Mom is 93. Luckily she is on the first floor and I can still visit her through her window. The virus is very bad in my county. We now have some 15 minute test.
