I like the Jiffy kind and my plants seem to thrive in it but most any will do. :)

Also, a heat mat will help them germinate faster too. Especially heat loving plants like peppers. They sell special plant ones but I think any one will work. I’m sure even a regular old heating pad would work haha

Not necessary though, I used to do it without a heat mat, but it may take a bit longer.

But honestly they sprout pretty fast. :) like a week or two and it is sooo amazing when they first pop out of the ground and you see the little sprouts and tiny little leaflets :love

It’s addictive like hatching lol be warned!
I'm gonna take it one step further jalapeno, serrano, and something else garlic maybe at the same time.:D

I should also note I do try to make eggs quite a bit and eat those a lot so it’s not all bad but sometimes I get sick of eggs and default back to the bread. But basically my main diet atm consists of eggs (usually scrambled or as an omelette), bread, and peanut butter. :lau 🙈

I usually do try to have some vegetables with my eggs when I make them though like sautéed or steamed spinach or kale and lately have been branching out like broccoli and bell peppers (so good sautéed with onions and garlic lol) buuuuuuttttttttt..... alas, all the veggies are either bad or gone now. :lau

But I do eat vegetables when we have them. Which isn’t very often but hey 😂🙈

I’m hoping this garden will help me eat better and/or cook more because I won’t want it to go to waste.

Good thing about being at home is I can’t go to Five Guys, Subway or Panera Bread either 😂🙈

Been eating a lot more eggs myself since 1) we have them and 2) we normally go out for brunch and NO ONE is open for brunch take out, so I'm making the egg dishes.

I don't even have peanut butter in the house. Just finished eating a loaf of bread tonight that's been in the freezer since... December maybe?

Hope the garden inspires you as well!

There's a couple of us :wee

The only thing that has changed for me is the fitness center I would go to a couple times a week in the winter or bad weather closed.

I usually go to the grocery store once a month anyway.... so I went 2x in March before the lockdown. Once the garden starts producing I will not go until winter
Ok, now I don't feel like such an oddball! I have only gone to town once in the last two months, and probably won't go again til the chickens run out of food. I'm perfectly content to wander my gardens, play with my chickens, and enjoy gorgeous sunsets on my deck.
