We are doing Olive garden takeout tomorrow for all my families bdays. I can't wait! I love the minestrone soup with salad and bread sticks 😁
That’s awesome!!! I love Olive Garden!!! There’s this place here that’s doing all these different dinners for super cheap. We’ve gotten a couple different things too. But this one was like $30 for this giant tray of chicken parm lol two trays actually. One with like 8 pieces of chicken and another huge one with tons of pasta lol such a good deal and tasty. šŸ˜šŸ˜

I hadn’t eaten anything all day and was going to buy my dad said they were getting this so I just waited lol so I was starving šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ™ˆ

I took so much of the pasta lol

ERMAHGERD! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!

I make fried rice often; the basic recipe I got from a Chinese cooking class long ago, taught by a Chinese immigrant. she said it's one of those 'use whatever you have' recipes, and that's what I do. Brown rice fried with oil, soy sauce (only Kikkoman!) and pepper. Then onions, garlic, whatever veggies cut small, and either already cooked meats, or first raw meats or shrimp, again cut small. Beaten eggs over all until cooked through. Easy! Everything is fair game, and soy sauce over all.
Much better than 'at the store', and can be a one dish meal.

I was just looking up fried rice recipes yesterday. Ordinarily I stay away from eating a lot of rice for carb reasons, and have brown rice as a treat, but I've got plenty of rice. And eggs. Yep, plenty of eggs. Though I have to use real soy "soy" sauce, not wheat "soy" sauce.
Thankfully Kikkoman has a GF soy soy sauce now because Tamari sauce (older type soy "soy" sauce) is seriously lacking.
Think I'm going to try making this over the weekend.

Kinda random, but thought it was funny

šŸ˜ž Sad Covid note tonight. Right now, my daughter should be stuffed full of steak and seafood, dancing the night away with her friends at her senior prom. Instead, she posted pics of her in the beautiful dress she's had for months and the strappy gold shoes she searched high and low for (that in itself is momentous ... any other time, she never wears anything but cowboy boots!) She then went to bed early, curled up around her dog. I know we're all doing the right thing by cancelling big events and I know there are many people out there who are suffering worse hardships because of this mess ... but my heart still breaks for my girl!

Aww that’s so sad. :( my cousin is in a similar boat. He is a senior too and I’m pretty sure their prom was also cancelled. Graduation too I think. It’s so sad. :(

That said, they get seafood and steak for their prom!? :th

I wish ours was that good hah

Yup - no graduations here either, unless we're cleared for gatherings of 1-2,000 people. Since we're still at the "under 10" limit and graduation is set for early June ... Nah ... ain't gonna happen! These poor kids - born under the shadow of 9/11 and now this. Please send your cousin a virtual hug from Maryland and tell him we're all proud of him, even without the bells and whistles.

Oh - and the fancy dinner came with a pretty fancy price tag. Oughta be interesting to see when and if and how we get our money back. We're gonna have a heckuva bash when this is all over!

And I bet!!! Ours we had to pay a lot too but I don’t recall it being that good haha we did have another fun thing though Senior Night Out that was on a boat and that one was good aha but prom the food wasn’t that good šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ™ˆ

I hope you get your money back!!!

And yesssss!!! Easter, Fourth Of July, Cinco De Mayo, St Pattys, whatever other holidays we missed LOL

Luckily not dealing with that now but I know, oldest 21, then 16, 11, 9, 7. Still don't know what they are doing with schools, SAT's? Final exams? Just pass them all and 'fogetaboutit'? IDK?!!!

Fried rice!
First, cook the rice, then add, either warm or cold, to the wok in oil and soy sauce. Remove.
Then can cook beaten eggs fast, take out, and chop. Or not.
Then, cook any raw meat or shrimp. Remove.
Then, cook raw veggies. Add cooked meats, rice, more pepper and soy sauce. Add cooked eggs, or add beaten eggs and mix until they are cooked.
Done!
It takes longer to write about than to fix, once everything is chopped.
Mary
PM; I often chop everything up while the rice is cooking...
