Anybody else planning to stay in well past the "Sure, we can open back up!" orders? With the damage some bull-headed fools are doing by ignoring today's restrictions (or circumventing them the best way they can,) I am truly afraid of what a poorly timed, over-enthusiastic reopening will cause. According to what I've found, the Spanish Flu killed - literally - ten times as many people during the second wave as it did during the first.
Me and Mine? We're staying PUT!
I plan on limiting my time in public until after Christmas...

I hardly think 2 birds getting sick in 5 years is a lot at all. But idk
I've lost two adult chickens and three chicks in 5 years.

The three chicks were all to predators (snakes)... The two adults one had a reproductive issue that would never be fixed and HeiHei got beat up by Squatch. Nothing I could've done.

I believe that we all deal with losses no matter how good you are with your flock. Animals are just like people, they can get sick. They also cannot talk and there really isn't a lot you can do when a bird is sick. I mean there's medications and such, but not everything can be cured by a medication.

WA is at 12282/682. The governor is trying to put together a plan to start lifting some restrictions possibly second week of May, including outdoor recreation, construction (? I see construction still going on all over the place), landscaping services (? definitely see that going on already too, the county even came and buzzed out 5' of bramble on front of the property).

Pal in NYC says she now knows multiple people who've tested positive, one is hospitalized but stable (father of her son's friend) and the others are quarantined at home with mild symptoms. Her son was exposed to a coworker who tested positive so her family was quarantining at home as well but that was weeks ago and no one developed symptoms so they're done with self quarantine. She said yesterday their deaths were down to around 500 a day and people were optimistic that things were improving now that they were only losing 500 people a day.
I don't know about everybody else, but I find it absolutely terrifying - definitely understandable, but still terrifying - that we're grateful to see death numbers under 500. I may never leave the house again.

Yeah I told her that sounded so... weird. Because I can't help but see it this way: in a single day, her state's numbers match my state's... over the duration of this pandemic. And she said "Well, it means that we're finally turning the corner, so at this point we'll take what we can get."

Sorry.

Okay wait so replying to a bunch of different ones is bad too??? Or just repeating the same info???

I actually did wonder if/worry I was being annoying or taking over by replying to tons at once.

And of course the telling another person the same thing I already said issue haha

I’ll work on both.

There’s just a lot of cool stuff I see and want to comment on or whatever. :th

Like I said, hard for me. I’m a chatter box 😂🤣

And I used to just reply to everything in one post so I didn’t spam but then that was apparently annoying too cause it was too long and hard to scroll past 😂🤣🤷‍♀️

I’ll try to work on a compromise haha
If you want to acknowledge each and every person who responded, you can still do that while using a single post. Just include the @ before each poster's name and they'll get a tag showing that you responded ... Voila! One message ... multiple recipients!
Chatterbox? I couldn't possibly understand ... DD gets embarrassed because I'll talk to anyone. The scary part is that, if you look carefully at the rest of my family, I AM my mother's "shy child." Kinda gives you a good idea about the noise level at our family reunions and such ... Scary!

Yeah exactly!!! Not everything is treatable or contagious either. Sometimes birds just get reproductive issues or whatever else.

I’ve lost 2 chicks and a hen to predators and then 2 to sickness or whatever. I think that’s pretty good especially considering my birds free range a lot.

My mom and dad went to Lowe's the other day, my dad decided to tell the guy working in the garden section all about how he killed his trees. My mom said she had to drag him away 😂
