Welp, the thing about this virus isn’t just the virus, it’s the prospect of spending weeks in an icu. Sure, maybe you’ll recover just fine or maybe your organs could be damaged. But the one sure thing is most of us would be left completely broke. If you own anything they will take it. That scares me the most I think. We got wiped out financially from the medical industry once. I hope and pray it doesn’t happen again.

I am not on either end of the spectrum. I know the virus is real, and people have died/are dying from it. At the same time, I think there is going to be a much bigger problem if the country wide shut down continues much longer.
Many small businesses have already shut down permanently, and more will follow. People are going to lose their homes. The suicide rates will skyrocket.
Will our economy recover from this? Who knows.
I am grateful to still have a job, and work in an "essential" business. Two of my sisters own their own businesses, and I worry their businesses may not fare well.
Masks are mandatory where I work (two months into the virus). I've tried 3 different styles of "masks", including bandanas, and if we're remotely busy, I feel like I'm suffocating, to the point where I get light headed. I have exercised induced asthma and severe allergies, so my Dr advised me NOT to wear an N95 mask.
I do not judge anyone for whatever side of the fence they sit on. If they chose to wear a mask, or not, it's their business.
Our business is pretty big, they have not restricted the number of customers in the store, and we stay pretty busy. Some weekends have rivaled black Friday busy. I have wondered how it is that not one of the employees have gotten the virus. Masks have only been mandatory the past couple weeks, and gloves are optional. We are cleaning fairly regularly, but it would be impossible to clean everything that every customer has touched in between each customer.
Sorry that my thoughts are all over the place. LOL
I do feel our country needs to start allowing businesses to open, even with some precautionary measures.
If they do not, more people are going to lose their businesses, livelyhood, homes and their lives due to suicide.
On that note, I saw that CA stated that emergency services (LE, Fire, nurses, etc) will be the first cut due to budget cuts.
I fear the future of this country.
As far as conspiracy theories go, I do know that our state government IS pushing through bills previously voted down, while people are focused on the virus.
Then there's people trying to get one of the county Sheriff's removed from office for saying he won't enforce the stay home order. Why?
LE agencies are understaffed as it is, and it is hard for them to keep up with real crimes, violent crimes, yet people want LEO's to make time to enforce people staying home.
These people are so tunnel visioned on the virus, they have no concept of what will happen with crime rates if the LEO's have to shift focus to people not staying home, but are not really committing any crimes.
People have lost their minds (as if hoarding TP, freezers, food, etc was proof enough). LOL

Anyhow, on the note of my birds, I was planning on rehoming the drakes and any roos that don't fit in with the flock, but with the supply of meat going down and prices going up, I have been leaning towards having them butchered and put in my freezer.
I want to be able to do it myself, but I have reservations, having raised them. Plus I would need to learn how to do it properly. I haven't brought myself to watch the videos on how-to yet. I will eventually. LOL

To others who are tired of the flaming foolishness - just hit the "Ignore" button and the fool slips back under the rock from which it came. It's just not worth feeding.
There have been so many people on here that seem to want to stir up things. I have ignored all of them. The comments of the unignored is what got me going because when y’all are getting trolled, I don’t like it.

I would suggest starting with YouTube. I’m vegan and butcher my families meat. I have allergies to a lot so that’s how I became vegan.

If I can do it, you definitely can

I realized to late that I should have exercised my ignore button. :hmm demmit.

Wish me luck....I decided to put the hardware cloth on the windows then the siding to give it more security. That should be fun.....um not.

So I had to text my doctor today because I am having severe memory issues.

Bet there will be tests in my future...
Awwwwww Pshawww... FORGET the tests! ;)
No, not really. Memory issues are VERY disconcerting. Hopefully it's just the added stress of the "state-of-the-world thing, but it's good that you're looking into it.
