I grew up in the muscle car era. My Dad was an exec at GM and part of his job was to pull random vehicles off the line to test drive & evaluate. I remember him bringing home a brand new car every. single. night. for nearly 6 months, just to tick off a neighbor who was being a real jerk. Shut him right down!
But ... the cars we had would make most teenagers - then and now - swoon. Chevelles? Check. Malibus? Check. Monte Carlos? The first Corvette Stingray made in Baltimore? (Metallic silver so deep you literally had to wear sunglasses to even look at it) Check. GTO Judge, the first one off the East Coast line and the second one ever built? CHECK! My brother still has one of the old Goats. It was a loaded, brown 69 GTO, brown (with deep gold metallic) and a floor shifter. It's currently in pieces in his garage, but he and my DS plan on making it a project, this
summer. We'll see. I'd sure love to see the old girl back on the road!
Wow - what a trip down Memory Lane! Thanks for that!!!!
