I read a report stating that children need to go back to school because they aren’t getting enough physical activity. A few paragraphs down, it explains the changes American schools would make. Things like; no sports, no recess, and no switching classes. IE, no physical activity at all.

If they aren't getting enough physical activity, it's because nothing is open, yet! That will change. And I know that none of those school-board researchers have driven through MY neighborhood, lately. ALL the kids are out and about ... and I'm okay with that! They're running & playing and riding bikes, outside in the heat. Let 'em play and enjoy their summer.

sounds quite boring for the kids

... and DANGEROUS for the teachers! Imagine being locked in a classroom all day with a group of over-tired elementary schoolers ... or a bunch of hormonal middle schoolers ... or a bunch of surly high school kids. By Thanksgiving break, there won't be a teacher left standing!
Then there's the question of handling high-school schedules. The same kids aren't in the same classroom for two classes in a row - and there are 5-8 sessions in a typical school day. How in the world will they handle THAT?
Holy Cow ... it's making my head spin just thinking about it. I've gotta find a new line of work before September rolls around!

Kids are at risk, but it’s different. I let Duckling play with some children visiting the hunting camp last weekend. They are from homesteads too, and no one was symptomatic. It seemed to please all the kids to have a new face in the group, and I hope they can get along when they are together through the summer. Duckling got rude when they said they had to go home, but didn’t leave immediately (they were eating dinner). As long as she can behave, she can play.

Want to give you the potential vaccine and then beings your a essential worker out in public where you will be exposed to the virus and see if it works...WHAT!! I bet they test you for the antibodies and you are exempt from the study if you have them. Might be a good free test for antibodies. I'd like to be tested for them but do not want to pay $$. I heard some places if you donate blood you get tested for antibodies free, looking for a local place that does. Be nice to know. I have always wanted to donate blood again. Had a great uncle that donated every chance you could. I have only donated blood once, '94 boot camp Army. If you donated you didn't get "smoked" all day, no pushups nothing...I think they get record donations that way

American Red Cross is now taking blood donations and testing for covid antibodies for free. We singed up, 45 min drive but I'm up for it, be nice to know and good to donate blood anyway.

Growing up I was fascinated by Tat's. By the time I entered the Navy I had decided they were not for me. Didn't want a bit of art that I might change my mind about years later and be "stuck with it" for ever.

Then learned about getting tat"'s that cover previous Tat's was a real thing. And started to wonder what would I ever do.

Then in college had friends with Tat's and body piercings. Then a roomie who did both and upp'd this one more level and went for a suspension experience. That was absolutely amazing.

I have tried Hena ink Tat's over the years.

I might get one in do time.... Just don't know what yet. The stuff keeps morphing as time goes by.

The reason I like tats IS because they're permanent. "Forever" so far hasn't been a concern for me, as I drew my designs (I wanted to be a comic artist when I was younger) and love that they're now part of me. I only have 2 at the moment, on my back, but I'm planning on getting quarter sleeves done on both sides once I can lay out a design to my liking. I won't be using my own illustrations for those though.

Harder part is hiding it from my family, so I'll never put ink anywhere that I can't easily hide it. Just rather not deal with their judgement, that's all. My mom had a fit over me double piercing my ears.

I used to do henna on myself, mostly on things like my lower leg since that's what I could reach easily. Hardest part is letting it dry out thoroughly before brushing it off.

Just got a fairly generic survey from the school district for the parent about the fall. I think it's just now sinking in to our "wise" district leaders that this isn't going to just go away and that we not be able to have a normal back to school in August.

I for one hope the option of virtual learning is made available. Yes, it may be difficult, but I doubt much will change until probably 3 to 6 months after a vaccine is out.

URGENT NON-COVID ISSUE - Okay folks, it's time to rally the experts. I just posted this in the Incubation and Hatching Forum, but I'm throwing the shortened version out, here ...

GemZilla Strikes Again ... only this time when she jumped at me while I was changing her water, she landed on her eggs.

One egg has a pip-like crack, but no hole. The other is badly crushed on one end and the membrane is definitely disturbed. There's blood seeping, not much, but enough to know that we have an issue. The best/worst part is that both chicks are close to lockdown and still alive! I've dripped wax over the cracks/holes and moved them and the one undamaged egg to the incubator, for now. I don't have pictures, yet, as it all happened really quickly. I'll try to get them in the morning.

I'm hoping I can nurse these two along for at least a day or two, but I have a serious concern. One of the broken eggs is very dirty and there is a serious concern over bacteria ... especially in the incubator, where the humidity is high.

So ... Please ... has anyone dealt successfully with this before?
Should I remove the damaged pieces of the shell and coat what's left of the membrane with coconut oil?
Should I adjust temperatures or humidity? Humidity is still climbing, but nearly at 70 %, right now. Temp is almost to the "usual" 99.5.
Should I "cup" them on the unbroken half of the shell?
Help! I wanna save my babies!

I guess it would depend on which half was crushed concerning cupping them. If the air cell is the intact end I don't know if you want to put that down to the bottom?
Someone else recently had a crushed egg that was still alive but I'm not sure how it hatched out.
After using some coconut oil on a mildly damaged egg here that needed some assistance I was a little dissapointed at how hard the membrane still got and baby could not kick out. Maybe look up MGG's thread- Half shell hatch-a-long. She had an open egg that made it until day 18 (first pics are on page 3) and used saran wrap over the open part. It was the large end I think.
