Wait really!? I actually never knew that! The funny part about the story of Paul Revere's Ride is that it didn't happen. I mean, he started out just fine, but got caught by the British before he even hit town. William Dawes and a handful of other men (and a young girl) were the ones who actually spread the word ... but the author of the poem couldn't find enough catchy words and phrases to rhyme with "Dawes," so he commandeered Paul ... and the rest is pseudo-history!
Seems like there’s a lot of cases though where someone else takes the credit for something they didn’t do!!!
Like Columbus for “discovering” America. He never actually discovered anything. Other people were here well before him. Plus he was a murderer and r*pist
Not really sure how or why he was ever celebrated.
