Today’s food towards winter. The feet are being made into dog treats.

@ChocolateMouse: For $10 that plague mask is a steal! I hope you get, wear, and post photos of it here!

I also have a beekeepers suit and helmet (it was a gift in case I ever got bees lol) and was so tempted to wear it and walk up and down the street with a fake Geiger counter and one of those weed sprayer backpacks landscapers wear. Mostly I've spent the pandemic trying to have a sense of humor in the face of incredible and terrifying loss.

As a introvert the virus personally has not effected me in to awful a way. I'm looking at the positive. So I decided to share some positives in case someone needs encouragement.

Thanks for your message! I'm an introvert, too, so have spent much of the pandemic squirreled away in my house making hundreds of masks to donate. Honestly, I like wearing a mask because it gives me a comforting sense of anonymity.

I love it! You have to have a sense of humor. Laughter is the only sane response to these crazy times. 🥰

@MROO Happy Belated (very belated) Birthday!!

Well, I shant wish you a happy birthday when you feel like it won't be one. And of course there's so many countless platitudes to offer... Like remember it won't always feel this bad, you have family who loves you, some days are good... But frankly, some days just suck, and it sucks to live through them. It just hits you like a ton of bricks and it's hard to get back up again, and I'm sorry you're going through that. You don't deserve to have hard times.

Instead I will share my favorite internet cat videos with you and hope they make you feel slightly better today.
Thank you, I needed that. Very cute cat.

Pretty busy around here of late. Settling into the new school year (distance) except kiddo's school chromebook keeps having issues so it will need to go back for fix #3....or 4, I don't remember.

The garden has been keeping me hopping with preserving and drying. Kiddo ended up not liking watermelon jerky, but home made raisins are awesome and banana chips are the bomb! My dehydrator happens to be off ATM, but only because I was too tired to fill it last night. Still have plenty of tomatoes and zucchini waiting and I'm getting ready to roast the first of the pumpkins and kabochas in a few. Have about 40 more waiting. Areas where I pulled spent plants have been replanted to hopefully squeak in some fall veggies before Halloween.

The summer hatchlings are growing well and would be great little composters but they eat everything I put in the pens before it can pile up. Saves some feed though so I'm not complaining. The last few mornings have been low 50s and wonderful! Hopefully in about a week daytime temps will start staying in the 70s and humidity will really let up. I have plans to expand some fence lines and make a permanent bachelor pad.
Haven't had time to post as much, but I'm still reading and trying to keep up.

Our previous ox team was BIG, and when we took a round hay bale out there, 600 to 800 pounds, John liked to toss it up in the air, for fun.
Mary
Ox team? Pictures please? It has always been a dream of mine to raise at least one of my sister's bull calves as a working ox, but I need to be onsite more often to make it work. I'm also not too sure what I'd do with just one ox, other than to have an oxcart. That would be fun - oxcart rides!
