I can't sleep on my stomach ... too much ... ummm ... padding ... but sleeping on my side definitely helps. Crazy Dog has come in very handy as a pillow bolster. With pillows behind and a dog on one side and a plie o cats on the other, I stay pretty stable all night. Now, if I could only stay asleep, as well!
The fitful sleep and the foggy head are the worst, so far. The grogginess has my coordination all messed up. It takes forever to type; I sometimes have to search for words to finish sentences - my brother thinks that's absolutely hysterical - and my stairway is positively evil. Every time I look down it, it moves! I'm going to try a short walk outside tomorrow. The bronchitis has me a bit worried, but overall, I'm doing better than I anticipated. Fingers crossed and prayers sent ahead!

Ya know, I really hate this crap. NJ has been so good, and now the positivity rate is up to 8.22 when it's been1.something for so long. I've done everything masked, missed my grandson's baseball games all season. Now due to the busy nature of my daughter's family we are not going to his birthday party, and Thanksgiving is in jeopardy. The Princess and I are great together, but I miss my family. :(
Understood! When your family is close, this forced exile is hard. I was anal about protection and precautions, too. For eight months, I went almost nowhere. When church started up outside, I did those services. The worst exposure I took was attending my nephew's completely outdoor wedding and reception - and we all breathed a sigh of relief when no one got sick afterwards.

At that point, I finally decided it was safe to do a cautious outing. Masked and gloved, hand-san in my pocket and entering a wonderful fabric store that limited to only ten people (including employees) at a time, my best friend and I spent a few hours out and about. By the time we got back, she was under the weather, but only a bit ... "tired," we figured, because of her diabetes. Nope - she'd picked up the virus from her MIL's health aide, who used her washing machine

Please be careful, everybody.

On a more positive note, what, if any, plans are y'all making for Thanksgiving, this year? My getting sick has just cancelled our family get-together. I'm curious about what changes, if any, everybody is making for the Big Dinner Day.

I'll check with the pharmacist to make sure it's safe with the cabinet full of treasures I'm swallowing at the moment, but I'm thinking it should be fine ... Hopefully!
For now, I think I've been up and about enough for tonight. I need to spray everything down again and go back to bed. I just hope those vicious stairs behave themselves, this time!

We too are going to miss more birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, just this year. Who's thinking that at least early next year will be better? not better enough!
At least the political advertisements are done!
We can't watch the news for more than a few minutes at a time, too stressful. I check in occasionally, that's it.
Loving the great weather here this week!
Mary
I have been blissfully unaware of most of the political posturing of the past few days. It's been wonderful!

Zen based, focused meditation can also act as a external stimulus reducer to help get closer & eventually into deep REM sleep.

Sooooo sorry for what you're going through, MROO. I'm glad side sleeping gives you some increased oxygenation. Take care of yourself!

Does getting some steam do something to ease your breathing and clear out the fogginess? We have a steam shower I can sit in but, lacking that, you can put your head over a bowl of steamy water with a towel over the whole affair to contain the moist hot air. I also find sitting in a hot bath can sweat some of that stuff out of me and clear my sinuses.

Do you have any inhalers? A doctor can prescribe a steroid inhaler which will reduce any respiratory inflammation. They've become pretty standard treatment for Covid and I believe (NO medical qualifications at all, mind you) that using them early can help you stay ahead of the virus' progression.

Thinking of you and sending my best.
