I want to hold Dale in the light.

I just talked with a friend here in South America about this awful COVID situation in the United States.
There is COVID here, but most people wear masks and limit their interactions.

In the US, The Christian Medical and Dental Associations is asking folks to PLEASE stay home, pray at home, worship at home, give Thanks at home.

If you’re at all pro-life, please stay home as much as possible right now.

One of my friends has been battling a 'cold' for the past couple of weeks. Last night he crashed in cardiac/respiratory distress - long story short he is Covid positive and has suffered a heart attack. Pray for Dale. Thanks.
I'm so sorry for your friend, Prayers go out to Dale.

Bleh. Got all my wood stacked but I'm feeling very lonely. Cases are spiking like crazy at D & G's workplace - 8 since the beginning of the month, 5 in one week, and bound to keep getting worse as the holiday takes off. Even though all our gatherings have been outside and distanced and masked and nobody's been sick we're cutting them off until cases in our immediate groups go back down. I would hate to be the person who sent someone else to the hospital - especially during this terrible season-based rush.

My seasonal cough is fading back in with the very cold weather. Between the two risk factors (cough and potential exposure) I'm back to checking my temp daily. There's another run on TP happening right now, which is annoying but we have enough to get through for a while - same with hand sanitizer, masks, soap, and most food products. We're set for a while.

Thinking of getting one of those masks that says "IT GOES OVER YOUR NOSE". Too many people who don't get it. Everyone was "wearing" a mask at the grocery store today as we get record high cases and overwhelmed hospitals but a bunch of people had them pulled down, some even down to their chins.

This is why we're going to get another lockdown right during Christmas shopping time, ruining small businesses across the country.... And feeding giant companies with good shipping procedures that definitely don't need more money. So much for "keeping the economy going".

That is great news.

An amazing number of people are travelling this weekend, including flying. It will be interesting to see what happens to the numbers in the next three weeks.
The skyrocketing numbers make one numb, but I heard a statistic this morning that kind of tells the tale. The US now has 12 million cases, but 1/4 of them have come since the beginning of this month. Over 4 million new cases in 3 weeks.

Singapore went 100 days with no new cases from the end of July till November 10. No community spread. All their new cases were imported.
The sad difference is they what shows up on the statista web site.

"Combating the second wave of Covid-19
Singapore imposed a strict lockdown period between April 7 and June 1, which saw the closure of entertainment venues, food establishments, places of worship, non-essential services, and schools. This seemed to have the intended impact, as the number of daily recorded cases started to decrease after the restrictions were put in place. From June 2, these restrictions were gradually lifted, albeit with strict rules governing mask-wearing, contact tracing, and social distancing, such as limits on the size of private gatherings. Those caught flouting these measures face hefty fines, and subsequent offenders could even face jail time. "

A drastic alternative to mass death.
