I am a proponent of voluntary masking not government overreach.

Sorry. It is not government overrerach to prevent individuals from infecting others. The mask primarily protects people you come in contact with, not yourself. However, there are masks available that will protect the wearer also. If you are infected but asymptomatic, you can spread the infection to others. If you should give it to someone like me, because of my age and other factors, if I got sick there is a very good chance I would not recover.

This ain't typhoid and i'm not Mary. What you seem to forget is this flu can not be stopped no matter what you do. Masks do not work and are not even stated that wearing them will not do anything to "stop" prevent you, me or anyone from getting it. It was "suggested" with little scientific "proof" that it "could" not "would" slow down the spread so hospitals would not get over run. Until hospitals are over "run" and bodies are in the street keep your "fear" to yourself and get in line for a flu shot.
The only joke bigger than the blue masks is the way people wear them. these cloth mask are a joke as well 30-10% . Can you do math? The N95 mask is 95% effective against particles if you know how to keep it sealed. N95 gives no guarantees about virus. The blue mask is like N40 at best. I say "like" as it can't make a good seal so they will not even rate it.
You are free to be misinformed but step on me and my freedom you will get bit.

but this vaccine is already out dated as the south African flu and Brazil flu is taking over and this vaccine doesn't work on it. The same way they "guess" how to tweak the yearly flu shot now. You do realize by the end of the summer this pandemic is about over anyway like every pandemic . The spanish flu, black plague , bird flu, swine flu... they go away after the second year. been so though out recorded history and any Doctor can back that up.

If pandemics were easy, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Personally, I don't usually take the flu vaccine, but covid has different (and to some degree unkown as of yet) impacts on the body. I would prefer not to lose my sense of taste and smell for a month or sometimes longer. I'd prefer not to have scarring on my lungs and other organs. Flu lasts a week or so and then there is no trace of it other than increased antibodies for fighting it next time. COVID is a whole new ballgame.

But in any case. I will remind people there actually are bodies in the streets in LA. Patients are no longer being transported to the hospital, they're dying in their homes. And regulations on air pollution have been lifted so they can burn the bodies fast enough. Just because we have trucks and crematoriums instead of wheelbarrows and bonfires doesn't make it less real. The more populous your area the worse it is.

Every doctor I know has told me to get the vaccine. Studies show it's almost as effective against the new strain as the old because it's an mRNA vaccine.

But in any case, the Byc staff has asked that if you think it's not serious and you think it's just a flu that you not post.
