We just had the Ebola scare 2 years ago and nobody was wearing masks and shutting down our country. Eola is much worse than Covid so I'm wondering why?

This is a great question. The reason is because ebola is spread by direct contact with blood or other bodily fluids, so wearing a mask would not block the virus from spreading.

Covid-19 is spread through the air by tiny particles that are small enough to float in the air for a time; so wearing a mask, in combination with social distancing, can prevent those particles from so easily entering the nostril and causing infection.

Nothing we have done or will do has or will change the out come of this.
a vaccine can but the time it takes to roll a NEW unseen type out heard immunity will have been achieved. History tells use this. By this time next year it will be over. masks, no masks lock down no lock down... as far as vaccines ? it may be to late for them to make an impact at this time. A year ago it would have. as far as mutations , its already rippling so not so much help there as well.

Actually people who came in from hot spots were forcibly tested and quarantined for a month after arrival. Most people went on their way with no symptoms. There were armed guards and people with biohazard suits enforcing it and running testing.

A few people were quarantined in special facilities longer term if they tested positive. Some of them died, alone in tents with nothing but webcams and doctors in PPE head to toe monitoring them. The death count was tiny, maybe a dozen. Now hundreds and thousands of people every day are dying in similar conditions.

The outrage was real. People flipped out about these peoples "rights". But we didn't have an outbreak.

Incidentally, NZ has a similar situation to that. People who come in are quarantined forcibly for two weeks. Their meals are delivered. There's no leaving without a two week QT and multiple negative tests. And then when they get out there's no masks, no overflowing hospitals, etc. The only lockdowns are where there's a confirmed case, and they're fast and for two weeks.

We can't do that anymore. We're no longer in a position where that's viable. The spread is so uncontrolled the only viable option is to treat everyone like they've got it, like chickens with lice. We could potentially be doing that if we'd locked down fast early and hard. but we didn't.

Why? Because it's exhausting trying to explain reality to ya'll.

If you can't agree on reality being real, make your own thread where you guys can not take it seriously and complain that people aren't taking unproven treatments and don't like your germy faces in peace. If the answer to "how it's affected your life" is that it hasn't because you refuse to live in a way that gives other people consideration and you just wanna complain, this isn't the place for it.

Just because you say "I think it's serious!!!!!" doesn't mean you acting like it's serious. Y'aint. Saying something doesn't make it true no matter how many times you say it.

You know what, preventive health measures are a crock. Personal hygiene is also a waste of time. I mean, I'm going to stop brushing my teeth because tooth decay always happens over time and brushing is so inconvenient.

brb, I'm gonna go kiss my chickens on their beaks cuz I luv 'em so much!

I'm thinking of going drunk driving soon. And shooting my guns down the open street as target practice because I can. I mean, other people might be at risk but it aint my problem, I don't have to limit my behavior to keep other people safe. Maybe if they don't wanna get hurt they should just stay home and off the roads?

What are they gonna do, pass a law regulating my behavior or something? This is AMERICA!

oh they had health issues, they were just not known to them.
Well the autopsies didn't show any unknown health condition. The family had it run because they didn't believe covid was that serious in a youngish healthy person and it had to be something else. They since have become believers. I pray you don't have to learn the hard way like they did.

H1n1 swine flu was not dissimilar and it was barely discussed by the media. I don’t remember such over reach. Even when it was novel and pretty infectious.
