Oh wow that’s shocking!! At this thing, seemed to be mostly older people masked or little kids. A couple people my age but mostly they were too “cool.” But it seemed like some people even would put masks on their little kids but not wear one themselves.

Most older people were smart enough to get vaccinated.

Only reason I got vaxxed! Way I look at it, most likely not affect me, most likely no worries..... But I also don't want to be one of the dead!!

From our news in my own words:

The Delta variant hits young people too. Hospitals were full with younger people because they were less vaccinated when the Delta variant spread. It took over the original and British variant in just a couple if weeks.

Especially the older people who have been vaccinated early this year have a drop in antibodies. More and more elderly in nursing homes get sick with Covid. Not badly, but comparable with a normal flew. Some have no taste or smell. Wards in nursing homes get quarantined again.

Now the government and medical advisory team are discussing about giving a booster with the Pfizer vaccine (also for those who had another previously) for the older people. There is proof it helps and Pfizer is eager to sell more vaccines for an even higher price.
So the elderly probably will get a third vaccination after the summer or in the fall if numbers of Covid infected increase again.

In Israel they allready started to give a third / extra vaccination. WHO says they should wait until the World had a chance to get vaccinated. The poorer countries are still waiting for supplies / donation.

Went to Lego Land NY this weekend, Goshen NY. Was kinda shocked. My work mandated masks again a couple weeks ago. All of upstate NY has been if vaccinated no mask, unvaccinated mask indoor and all children of course under whatever the age is for vaccine mask indoors. This place thousands of people I'd estimate 10% masked, no social distancing elbow to elbow. This place closest I've ever been to the city. 50/50 upstate masked in Walmart from my estimate. Hardly anybody at that Lego Land not far from the worst covid death place in the entire country.
Kids there 50/50, I'd say. Some kids masked some not at all.
Upstate where I live, every store all little kids have masks on.
Just makes no sense to me. Upstate we don't even hardly know anybody that has had covid even fewer that has died from it but we're complying with the rules.
Downstate.... It was like covid had never happened.
We also stopped at a Golden Corral buffet there. The only two upstate have been closed this whole time and maybe bankrupt never open again IDK? Haven't been to a buffet since covid hit all closed here even on Native American casino property that is exempt from the shutdown.
No masks wore by anybody there and no social distancing and help yourself just like usual.
We wore no masks, kinda refreshing. Like covid never existed all good now.
No mask for us or kids.
First time being around this many people since covid hit.
Update/ let you all know what happens next few days if anyone gets sick.

I agree with @aart. I got my second shot of the Moderna vax at the end of February but I started wearing my mask inside stores and even outside in crowds when the Delta variant started to get really bad. Even if you are vaccinated you can still get COVID but likely a milder case just like with the flu shot. What concerns me even the vaccinated can still spread the germs. Also a bit concerning is the rise in young children getting COVID.

I think a lot of them were planned well before the new variant came and then it was too late to cancel maybe, idk. Probably never too late but if they didn’t have to they probably won’t. I think a lot of people are also really hoping for some normal after last year but it’s not yet. People definitely need to wear masks and/or not have the events but here, restrictions are still lifted so I think as long as they are, people will gather.

I've avoided crowds mostly for over a yr and a half...lost track of time. Heck we didn't even go to any big box stores or even larger grocery stores , no restaurants not even McDonald's for most of the last yr and a half.
Jumped full bore into this one. Seem like everyone else there doing the same just said f it.
Nobody here sick hopefully stay that way.

I still have to be precautious despite being vaccinated. I am back to my former rules of only going out for things I NEED. I can’t afford to catch this virus.

Sometimes I wish their was a compete eradication of this pandemic. But some people in society want to make everything political and be childish. I worry this mayhem will cause a longer duration than it need to be.
