I just called the Illinois governor's office and found out we are in complete lock down AGAIN. This seems to mean the government is closed. Only the government. They can not take phone calls or do any government bussiness. So if anyone needs help you are completely on your own. I do assume this means police and fire departments. The police here have been like most and not working for 2 yrs just here to drive the cars around. You know for show but they do not really get out and do anything. I am so mad I could spit fire right now.

That is just BS. They are essential services.

My uncle (not related to cousin w/Covid taking care of grandma) tested positive this morning.

We hit a new high of 940 with the mid-day report yesterday. Pales in comparison to the numbers today - 1,352. I will be surprised if it isn't higher tomorrow.

Only the government. They can not take phone calls or do any government business.

Haven't they heard of "work from home"??? Surely they were doing that for most of last year and at least the beginning of this year!

She also has had a strong natural immunity for over a year.

Nothing to do with masks, by the way. She got it from her mother who got it while in the hospital in early March 2020... she was one on the last in for "elective" procedures before they stopped doing those. Elective is quotes because it wasn't very elective.

Her immunity has been tested several times and has been strong so far. The daughter's, that is. The mother catches everything and has for a few decades.

I have been calling them (government offices} all this year trying to get things done. Important things to help me stay in my home. They (the government offices} aren't calling back when you leave messages. No one is answering phones. Today the places I have called Security of States office, dmv, and a few others now have their phones off the "hook". They aren't even taking messages anymore. They are the only ones masked. No one around here wear masks anymore.
Police here backed down 20 yrs ago. They still don't do anything. I do believe in police and respect the position. I even have very close relatives that are police chiefs in Mo. So I am not downing real policemen/women.

OMG, sounds like a regular work year for our PD. Always has been but they do seem to have gotten just a tad more worthless. Very unfortunate that is the perception.

I seriously doubt the fire department is closed/unavailable for calls. They just don't want B.S. calls which they don't need right now (or ever)
The police are like that cause everything they do is wrong and scrutinized these days. I don't blame them. True emergencies only
