Phobias aren't something to tease about. Many people have them and it is terrifying to think this thing is going to really hurt or worse kill you. It isn't a test on how much he loves/likes her. It is something people have to get over and it takes time. Sorry this poor boy is so scared. I truly feel for him. Think of what makes you cringe and now think all you have to do is put on your big girl/boy pants. Please you are still scared and this boy is scared out of his mind. We all have fight or flight built into our DNA some much stronger then others.
I personally have a fear of clowns and spiders. You show me a clown holding a spider and I will run for the hills. DH tried to get me to watch a movie called Killer Clowns from Outer Space because he said "its funny". I couldnt get through it and then I had nightmares all night. And even a very tiny spider scares the crap outta me. I cant even kill it because I'm scared I'll miss and it will climb onto me. Phobias may not necessarily make sense to everyone but they are very real to people who have them. Often times we arent even sure how we got them.

Edit: that being said please no clown or spider posts :hit

Isnt that the cake with a tiny baby in it? Never understood that tradition.

Edit

Le gâteau des Rois, by Jean-Baptiste Greuze, 1774 (Musée Fabre)
The three kings cake takes its name from the Biblical Magi who are also referred to as the three kings.[5] In Western Christian tradition, Epiphany (also known as "Three Kings Day") celebrates the visit of the Magi to the Christ Child.[5] The Eve of Epiphany is known as Twelfth Night, which is the last day of the Christmas season, and Epiphany Day itself commences the Epiphany season. The three kings cake originated in the Middle Ages in Europe whence Spanish and French settlers brought it to colonial America.[5] It often includes a statue of the Christ Child and it is believed that the individual who discovers it will have good fortune.[2][5] The three kings cake is consumed throughout Epiphanytide until the first day of Lent, Ash Wednesday.[5

Yes it is and if you get it you buy the next one
Because you'll have good fortune? Sounds like an endless cycle of cake. We used to have to bake them this time of year. It was never really explained why and they didnt sell well. Theres an irish tradition where you put a rag and a coin in the cake. If you get the rag you'll be destitute but if you get the coin you'll be rich. In my personal opinion I dont like finding anything in my food other than the food itself.

Although I am a purist and like the original king cake. They are stuffing them with all kinds of stuff. This one is cream cheese filled cause that's what my wife prefers. But don't get me wrong I'll sure have a piece or 10
