I was reading something unrelated to Covid yesterday. A few nurses were saying they have to supply their own scrubs, and change at home. A lot chimed in saying they have hospital supplied scrubs, and shower/change there.

Then the ones here have to provide? Still seems like they should have a locker room and carry the scrubs in a bag.

That would make too much sense. When I worked as a CNA I used to keep an extra pair of scrubs in my car to change into at the end of the day just so I didn't bring anything home. I had to change in the employee bathroom because there was no locker room. Then Id go home and immediately wash both in bleach (I only wore white scrubs for that reason). I had several clients with C-dif so it was a much needed precaution.

Glad you asked! For the foreseeable future, I am very happy to mask up. The ‘average’ American is very sickly in general.

Also, Folks aren’t covering their mouths when coughing or sneezing and no longer distancing.

I haven’t had a cold or flu in 2 years.

We hadn't had a cold in 26 months. Then in May we flew to Hawai'i for our grand daughter's wedding. No one was masking on the plane or in the airport. Early in the trip we got minor 'colds' - did not test, but should have. Occurrences since then indicate that we probably had Covid. I, too, am masking in public areas. I have no problem doing so.

This is not to be combative or otherwise argumentative. For HR reasons I can't ask anyone at work. I am genuinely curious.

Do you plan to wear it for life? If not, what metric needs to be met?

I wear one at crowded places, like the grocery store. The feed store has 10 cars in the lot, on average when I go, in an old Kmart. I usually forget to put it on. But it's so spacious I'm only near the cashier.

To be honest I only go to the grocery and feed stores and Dr offices even before the virus

Never really affected me much went to work came home chilled like I usually do never got it. Then I found a computer job working from home. Now I'm disabled and stay home with my animals. So I've always been a homebody. Hubby and I never got covid everyone around us had it.

It’s pretty much non-existent here in Mid TN. That is to say that no one cares about it anymore (rightfully so). Not even really talked about on the news from what little I watch. I got my vaccine late 2020 or early 2021 (can’t remember). I only did that because I seriously thought it would be needed for travel state to state or county to county. I still got COVID back in March. Since then I couldn’t care less about it. No masks, no vaccines, just another illness IMO.

I did get 2 extra weeks off work back in 2020 which was really nice. Thankfully I was “essential” so never lost work. Shelves were bare here for a few months but we were able to find the essentials still. Honestly…..nothing really changed around here. Just got inconvenient for a few months then back to normal.

Many years ago when my daughter was an infant I used to babysit a child whose mom was a nurse. She wore scrubs to work everyday. When she got off work she went straight home. She told me she undressed in the laundry room and then showered and then come to pick up her child. She said everything off the street was in the local hospital she wasn't taking any chances with her baby! This was a long time before Covid.

I'm still seeing masks in my small hometown. I still keep one in a zip lock bag in my purse. I don't go very far from home anymore. Just routine stuff. I usually do grocery shopping early am so not many people there. If I have to go inside any where busy, yes, I put on my mask. Vaccinated and still prefer to social distance with most folks!

Makes it seem almost redundant to have a baby at the hospital. The most vulnerable in a place full of sick people. Anyone who has worked in healthcare can tell you that all that sanitizing and hand washing has diminishing returns due to complacency.
I rarely see people masked anymore. Usually it's older people. I have noticed you can cough or sneeze in public now and people don't look at you like you have plague
