Does anyone know what the cost is per chick to raise a large breed heritage pullet to POL? What about a commercial breed like a White Leghorn or ISA Brown?

For feed cost from hatched to 20 weeks they eat an average of 23.87 pounds for white leghorns, and 27.25 pounds for RIR. Just multiply that by feed price per pound and you get your answer. This includes cockerals until 14 weeks for the RIR and 10 weeks for the legnorns. So if feed cost you $15 for 50 pounds them then the chicken would cost you $8.18 for RIR and $7.16 for the leghorns. Of course this doesn't include chick cost, water, electricity, and time.

I'm just looking for feed, I've figured out the rest. Thanks so much!

I'm sorry that was for 24 weeks.
17.94 lbs. for 20 weeks which is $5.38 for white leghorn, if they do start laying at 16 weeks it is 12.14 lbs. and $3.64. For the RIR at 20 weeks it is 20.12 lbs. and $6.04. Sorry, that is a big difference.
