hehe!
As for A & Ms technically they are to be on the jumbo side...BUT, the A & Ms I have (yep got em finnally last sat yay) are of varying size..however some are much younger than others....the one hen..."Big Bertha" MY GOSH....for a quail she is massive..she looks like a mini roaster chicken! HA HA! OKay taht's exaggerating but she is HUGE! I can't even hold herin one hand...i thought my golden male was huge..nope nothing compaired ot Big Bertha! LOL! She lays HUGE eggs too....biggest coturnix eggs ive ever seen! I adore her...shes' one i'll be sad when she passes...she's one i'll keep even after she stops producing fertile eggs shes' so cute and big she diserves pampering after she's done doing her duty.
My male A & M is tiny like a dove!?!?! He may be young....but his feathers look adult....he looks like a dove even Ha ha!
I think it all depends on who bred the strain that you got, and how selectively they bred. MY personal plans in the spring is be very selective aboutwaht i keep, color and size wise, my plan is to have all jumbos by summers end....jumbo tibetans (british range), Jumbo goldens, jumbo a & ms, jumbo tuxedos, jumbo browns you get the pic he he!
But as for your question, yes! LOL! Your jumbos wont be done growing until 8 weeks old.
That's why jumbos shouldnt be culled for meat until then because if you cull before that you'remissnig out on more meat growth.
I dont thnk your'e eating these but just using it as an example
