i agree aggressive pit bulls shold be PTS to avoid the risk of them fighting again or hurting someone but the part that upsets me is ones that are obviously friendly but in areas that the laws are to put them to sleep makes me so sad. I grew up around a few pit bulls along with other dogs, great great wonderful family pets is all i can say. I've never owned one, my mom did adopt a mix, and we were told she was great with cats...yeah if you're meaning of greatis wanting to kill them...so my mom brought her back to the adoption agency a few days later after we knew for sure it wasnt going to work and they were so rude to her...well maybe they need to do better checks on their dogs (no matter the breed or mix) before they adopt tehm out saying they're good with cats...the cat that she tried to eat loved dogs and wanted to see her but the pitty mix wanted to eat her it was just a bad situation..she also knew how to open doors and we assume that's how she ended up in the shelter in the first place (escaped lol).
I totally agree with you on the gamey roo thing...my RIR bantam would kick the crap out of another roo smoe roos no matter what the breed dont like other males around...it's normal IMO...so putting them down is just cruel to me...atleast some could find a hoem with a bird fancier!
As for horses screaming in pain, honestly they don't...i've ben around horses getting gelded, being stung by bees, whipped, etc...they don't scream, the most they do is groan. Even horses being slaughtered dont scream.
Even if you watch horses with broken legs on race tracks, they don't make a sound...i think it's thier natural way to protect themselves from other predators ganging up on them.
Ah ha i just found proof to backup the not screaming in pain info " In one respect, it's a pity that a horse is not like a pig. When hurt or even when only mildly upset, a pig will let out an ear piercing protest that is impossible to ignore. Unfortunately, horses don't scream. They suffer in silence and mostly without retaliating. It is only by reading their body language that the suffering can be seen. But if we haven't learnt their language we remain unaware. "

Screaming in horses is normally a sign of anger or dominanc not pain.
and herse info on that: "The Scream
The scream sounds like a loud roar of rage. It is very rare to hear a domesticated horse scream. It is only used during a fight between two horses, usually only in the wild.
"I will kill you" - The horse roars at another horse, moving towards the other horse aggresively, striking out and/or biting.
Responses:
"The fight is on!" - Both horses move towards eachother aggressively, striking, kicking and biting. This continues until one of the two horses backs down.
"You are the boss" or "You win" - The horse backs down, with his tail set low, running away from the other horse's threat. "

As for farting...haha...horses fart all the time they're hogs lol! Esp if you brush around their rumps, i notice most fart then...disgusting rotton hay smell is all i can say... LOL! I thnk its' sort of like how dogs smell other dogs butts, if a horse gets near another horses butt and they're new aquaintances if they dont fight, and are friendly they'll fart for eachother...gross i know but it's true lol!!
I've owned over 8 horses in my life time, seen them abused (not mine) seen them get hurt, gelded, fight etc...no screaming only in fighting, or a horsey dispute.
I had to feed the quailies is why i ran away, then i sat down and watched em for a bit....oh and before that I put a stew in the slowcooker!
